That’s slow for a receiver
A 4* receiver?????
Probably lose a star for a time like that

I hope he goes to Okst...I think hes a little overrated...Id rather just get north and robinson...and maybe williams

Re: Recruit Ryan Jenkins 4.59 40 at the opening

Jul 6, 2012, 7:27 PM

I agree about taking North and Robinson, but you can't pass on a 4* WR, I'd take all three as we in the lead for all three.

Jul 6, 2012, 8:17 PM

I agree but watchin this kids film it sure doesnt eqaul a 4star

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

How many 4* receivers do we need.....

Jul 6, 2012, 10:38 PM [ in reply to Re: Recruit Ryan Jenkins 4.59 40 at the opening ]

watching from the sidelines.
There are other positions to fill

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Jeffery was slow too and look how good he was

Jul 6, 2012, 11:20 PM [ in reply to Re: Recruit Ryan Jenkins 4.59 40 at the opening ]

Rod Gardner, Youngblood wasn't that fast either

Re: Jeffery was slow too and look how good he was

Jul 6, 2012, 11:54 PM

difference was they actually produced during a highschool game not a 7n7 without pads

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Just stating 4.59 is slow — no comment on ability

Jul 7, 2012, 2:27 AM [ in reply to Jeffery was slow too and look how good he was ]

Jeffery, Gardner & Youngblood were slow but had size

Jenkins is slow and only 5' 11" 180 lbs. 4.59

I’d rather get North 6' 3" 205 lbs. 4.4
and move on to another position

Coach Morris can handle who he wants
and that is who I’ll be backing.

Don’t waste roster spots on 3-4 receivers.
We don’t need that many even if they have a 4* rating.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

look at all of his offers

Jul 7, 2012, 2:19 PM

Obviously the coaches see something you don't and I'd say they know more than you. I trust Dabo will get the best for Clemson. Doesn't have to be a burner to be very good. Ryan Broyles was 4.5 also

You obviously only read the parts you want to argue about

Jul 7, 2012, 10:23 PM

As I stated in MY earlier post,
I’ll let Coach Morris decide who he wants,
and that is who I will support.

I’m sure he knows better than either of us.

He's at the opening for a reason

Jul 6, 2012, 9:56 PM [ in reply to Re: Recruit Ryan Jenkins 4.59 40 at the opening ]

they just don't give out invites to any prospect, it's meant for some of the best HS players in the country.

Brad Brownell: more losses than any other coach in school history.

Re: He's at the opening for a reason

Jul 6, 2012, 10:40 PM

ok...I know those recruiting sites always get it right....I wtached his film...based on who weve offered at wr,,,,he isnt close to the top

Justin Blackmon was slow too a 4.5 something guy he is really smooth out of his breaks which can equal separation and most scouts say he is 1 of the best route runners in this class

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: Recruit Ryan Jenkins 4.59 40 at the opening

Jul 7, 2012, 2:08 PM

Skipping to the pros...Steve Largent was not a blazer but was probably one of the best route runners of his day

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Not suprised.

Jul 6, 2012, 9:39 PM

This kid isnt a burner(watkins), he is more of a slot third down Mr. Reliable(nuk). Although i do agree not very impressive highlights, but has gotten great reviews from all of the combines and camps he's been to. I think he has a huge upside. My 2 cents!!

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

If you'll catch the ball over the middle

Jul 7, 2012, 4:16 AM

and have good hands, you can run a 4.59.

2024 student level memberbadge-donor-10yr.jpg2008_ncaa_champ.jpgbadge-ringofhonor-clemsonpoker489.jpgmilitary_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Also

Jul 6, 2012, 9:43 PM

He is quick off the ball too, but he is kinda like a 1/8 mile dragster on a 1/4 mile track.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: Re: He's at the opening for a reason

Jul 6, 2012, 10:47 PM

Your right he is probably 4 or 5 on our wr list, but we wont get them all.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: Re: He's at the opening for a reason

Jul 7, 2012, 12:02 AM

No offense but hes not in the top 5...barely in top 10

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Dwayne Allen proves 40 isnt all that

Jul 7, 2012, 11:54 AM

You can play faster on the field and be a relaible go to guy. Leave the recruiting to the coaches guys. There is a reason they are in the position and you are not.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: Recruit Ryan Jenkins 4.59 40 at the opening

Jul 7, 2012, 4:08 PM

Its in the 98th percentile for a reason--kids don't really run all of these silly 4.3 and 4.4 times. If it was hand timed at Clemson this past spring it would have been a 4.3 so not to worry. As a slot receiver he needs more quickness and agility than straight line speed anyway and he has that with his 3.94.
