Recommedations for pure sine wave 2000W (min) inverter

Sep 5, 2022, 1:25 PM

Hello fellow Tiger fans:

I looked for a key word search function for past Tiger Board posts but didn't see how to do that.

I am looking for recommendations for a pure sine wave 2000W (min) inverter. Also, are there any recommendations for a deep charge 12V battery? I have seen one recommendation for Optima Yellow Tops. Does anyone else have a recommendation? Currently, all that I am running is an old school Bose Music System. It looks like a Bose Wave Radio, but it is over twice as tall with 4 speakers instead of 2 speakers. The reason that I want 2000 watts is in case I ever want to add other tailgate devices in the future.

Hi, this is probably not what you are looking for, but will say that I have lived for the past 42 years completely off grid (with solar) in an incredibly beautiful ..but remote location in Vermont. What has served me well is a Magnum 4024 pure sine wave inverter (4000watt 5000 surge 110/220v) and a bank of Rolls batteries (over 300lb. each). The inverter has been flawless, running everything including a high-end stereo and many of my smaller shop tools. Would add that it has also survived numerous nearby lightning strikes. The Rolls batteries are of the type (some larger than these) you might find in an ocean-going supertanker. It was a top-of-the-line system at time of investment ...many changes in the solar energy field since then..that is a good thing. Not sure that the name dropping here will help you but good luck . Don't spare a dime if you want something that will hold up.. sounds like you think that way. Regards

Hi vermontiger:

Thanks for the feedback. You're right... I don't think that your system would fit in my F150 and/or my tailgate spot! :) If I'm reading right, your inverter weights 50lbs. You're also right that I am spending at least a little time plottin' an' schemin'! Unless I hear better, my current plan is start with 1 Optima deep charge battery that I can add a 2nd+ to if I need "more power Scotty." I have read reviews of 2000W+ pure sine wave inverters until I am cross-eyed and may have to select one without personal feedback. One that really sounded good unfortunately wasn't designed to pop-out/pop-in replace safety fuses. Sigh...

Hi vermontiger:

I purchased a Giandel model LS-2000SAR 12V DC 2000W AC inverter and an Ampere Time 12V 200Ah Plus Lithium LiFePO4 Battery with Built-in 200A BMS.
