Really surprised we haven't featured #28 more in passing gm

Where's the offensive play design to get him to utilize his straight line speed in open spaces? No Spiller-ese wheel routes, basically no screens, no streaks down the field, no motioning him out of the backfield for angle routes vs LBs. We know he has good hands cause he was basically a WR his Senior year in High School.
Even if he isn't that great in pass protection yet, there still seems like there would have been plenty of opportunities to utilize his unique skills this year.

If saban had that kind of weapon in his back pocket best believe he'd utilize it

I have wondered this also. Perhaps Dabo knows something that we don't! Maybe he is for saving it for a special rivalary game!

Or maybe he is a freshman and we have 4 other guys at the same position that are better that this point? Maybe but idk. The coaches just want to ease him in and let the game come to him. They are not trying to force anything when we do not need it. I think our O has been just fine I do not understand the want for Feaster if there is no need right now. He will get his reps next year.

I wasn't suggesting a heavy dose of #28 every game

So I'm not buying the "just one football" excuse. If he's in there for 4 or 5 plays a game, have 1 or 2 plays designed specifically to utilize skills. It's not like we never throw to our RBs. Its just that it's usually not to him.

You just do not understand football. You do not work your game plan around a guy just because he was a high recruit and fans think he is amazing. He has to earn it. He has to fit into our system. I know great coaches utilize their talent and I believe we will when he earns the PT all the fans want for him. His time is next year we do not need a freshman in there with a chance of a mistake right now when our O is doing just fine as it is.

He's pretty consistently getting 4 or 5 snaps a gm now

You aren't working your game plan around one guy if you feature him once or twice in 85-90 snaps a game. Apparently he's earned those 4 or 5 snaps. I'm just surprised we haven't utilize his unique skills in something other than a straight hand off on those 4 or 5 snaps he does get.

and is arguably one of the fastest guys in the country. If you had a guy like that, wouldn't you scheme up at least one or two plays a game to utilize his skills?

Maybe you should have become a coach and worked your way up into being an OC at Clemson since you know how to run our O better than Scott and Elliot.

Feaster hasn't looked that fast thus far. It will come with time but he doesn't look ready yet. His track speed is undeniable but his football speed has yet to show up.

I think what the OP is saying is that, instead of using Feaster to run between the tackles when he is in the game, maybe choose to throw him the ball in open space. Maybe. I'm in with that 100%. Sounds like a plan Dan.

I would think we have these kind of plays but honestly, I haven't seen too much creativity in our offensive play calling. We had the couple of plays to Wilkins, the jumbo package etc. but that's it. Not complaining because our offense has been awesome but I would think a few more plays like what you're saying would give DC even that much more to prepare for. One place we could definitely use some creativity is the 4th down calls in or close to the redzone... namely, Pitt game and last week.

Agree. Not sure if he's an up the middle kinda guy like a James Davis. Not sure why we haven't used him in the passing game. Seems like that's where he'd be most lethal.

just about everyone on this board hopes that Tavien will turn out to be the running back that we had hoped, but our coaches see him every day in practice. They know his capabilities and his liabilities and I am positive that figures in to his playing time.
We had one of the top running backs in the country a few years ago and we gave him the first carry of the season where he fumbled and basically was a wreck until his senior year. It may or may not have been because of the fumble, but then would he have been a better player if he had been eased into the line-up? I'm trustinh our coaches on this one!
