Really missed Trevor on that last drive ........

Nov 8, 2020, 8:41 AM

DJ was incredible and will only continue to get better. Assuming he stays healthy and grounded, he will be the next Tiger #1 draft pick. All that being said, most likely, the coaches didnt want to give him a chance to make a mistake on our last possession before OT, i.e. the runs and short pass vs anything creative to get a first down and ice the game. I can see why they would have thought that but running the ball had no chance, heck, we couldnt get 1 yd vs BC last week at home with the game on the line. IF Trevor had been there, they would have trusted him to go win the game but, he wasnt and it didnt happen - another victim of the Rona!

Can this team still win the ACC and make the playoffs - absolutely! Can they win the Natty - maybe, but probably not - but we are not all of sudden going to get better along the OL thus, against quality defenses, we are going to remain one dimensional. Defensively, IF we get our players back healthy, we will be fine but we will also see offenses who are MUCH BETTER than ND if we make the playoffs. OL was always going to be a concern, esp interior and it remains.

Lastly, and this is just a curiousity - WHY do we not understand how and when to return KOs? Its the been this way the entire year? Just dont get it - just something that makes little sense to me 8 games into the season.

DJ is great but we missed Trevor's legs when he scrambles or runs certain plays.Book played a great game and put his team on his back and his legs.

ND offensive and defensive lines are older and
more experienced than ours. We are a good team
this year but we will be a great team in 21.

Agree on the DL and the Defense as a whole - should be lights out in 2021. But as we have now been told, it's offenses that win championships. Hopefully the OL will be better, not sure how much because not sure how much talent is there to improve. Getting Ross back will be huge but CP has turned into a beast and he will be missed. Dont see a replacement for Amari and none of the RBs are difference makers. The incoming Fresh Mafah is probably better than anything we currently have other than ETN and hopefully Shipley is as well.

Bottom line - until we are able to run the ball with some degree of confidence, all the games vs quality defenses will be a struggle.
