Reality sets in for Clemson

Tx, Ok, USC, and UCLA have all bolted their traditional regional conferences. SEC and Big 10 are becoming mega-giants. Clemson is a Southern team and I sure would hate to go Midwest for all our away football games. If I had the choice Clemson would be folded into the SEC. Close rivals and big games. Crazy times

Men & Ladies, I would be "all in" on road tripping to Austin, TX, College Station, The Grove at Ole Miss, Nashville, even Norman to see old friend BV, and possibly a few more. More so than Iowa, Minnesota and Michigan (no offense intended). What are your thoughts on road tripping?

I think he's saying let it play out....Clemson will have a seat at someone's table. I don't believe he's suggesting to sit tight in the ACC.

I get paid to understand the market and make moves to insure my company’s success. If I took this stance, my job would be in jeopardy. Maybe we’ll be okay, but moving is our best bet.

We don't need to initiate a move; I'm sure the master plans for both of these mega conferences don't include leaving Clemson or FSU at the bus stop. Clemson is a valuable commodity and doesn't need to ask a boy to the prom; Dear Ole Clemson has had several invitations, I'm sure. Clemson will go to the dance ... better to wait out and see what happens, then make an informed decision.

If Miami, Florida State, North Carolina, and Virginia Tech got their #### together it wouldn’t be a problem. Insey state is trying. North Carolina is trying. Miami looks like they might be starting to try. But if those programs would raise their game to where they have been in the past the ACC would be as good or better than any conference in football.

Agreed. Though if I had a magic wand within reason it would be to add the domers as a permanent member and have Texas A&M jump ship to the ACC as well. Do that and get some of the other ACC programs off the matt, and the ACC is good to go.

Those are a lot of IFs, and even if the level of play dramatically improves in the ACC, the money discrepancy between the Big Boys and the ACC will not improve.

I know the ACC contract has us pretty much locked i but I wonder if Clemson could exit the dying ACC due to negligence of leadership…

addition to SEC could yield longer road trips than Big 10. Austin, College Station, Missouri are not short trips. Weird to think you could get to Penn State or Maryland quicker than those spots.
