Realignment Rumor Mill in overdrive today.

Just go to youtube and search "big 12 expansion." Lots of new stuff. All predicated on the fact that Colorad Board of Regents had a closed door meeting yesterday. The official agenda of the meeting says nothing about conference realignment. But, that hasn't stopped the rumor mill.

Note: I have not watched a single video yet. But, here is the gist of what they are "reporting."
1. Colorado will soon be in the Big 12.
2. UConn and Gonzaga will soon be in the Big 12. (basketball only?)
3. Pac 12 university representatives and Big 12 representatives had a secret meeting in WV yesterday to discuss joining the Big 12.
4. Plenty more speculating.

I don't recognize some of the names of the people posting. Some I recognize as people who just watch youtube and regurgitate it and claim they have inside sources. I'll watch a few later on today when I'm bored.

Just passing the info along. Nothing new to report except the rumor mill is abuzz.

Colorado doesn't bring them anything. I read somewhere their contract states if another P5 team joins they would get the same money share (31 million) as every one else. I think they are just desperate to look like they are bringing in another P5 school after adding all those Group of Five schools.

I want to know what the Duke of West Virginia (where ever that is), has to say about Big 12 expansion and where Clemson is going this time around. That guy has never been wrong.

I have followed this story a little bit over the last month.

UConn is a independent in football, it s an easy grab and contract to sign. Also the basketball brand helps the big 12, which many believe is already one of the best basketball conferences in the country.

The real take away is how aggressive the big 12 is. They will end up with a really good football conference with teams from Coast to coast.

Colorado brings absolutely nothing. It seems like they are adding for the sake of adding. If Sanders does well, he is gone in a year. 2 years tops. There is no way Colorado can keep him. Selfishly I want Colorado and the 4 corners schools to join the Big 12 so that the B1G will add Wa and Or. Then there can be B1G games on from 11 am till midnight.
