If you had asked me 5 weeks ago where we would be today I would have said 4-0 as a team and solidly ranked in the top 2.

Now that reality has set in, it is obvious that guys like Trevor and Travis powered the offense. They made all the other players AND COACHES look good. I say that because the results on the field so far demonstrate this offense is not prepared. Every aspect of the offense is broken.

What is most surprising to me is that this offense is as bad as it is, and our coaches did not see this coming? Our offense plays against our defense in practice and they did not see this coming?

All that being said, while I am frustrated with the results on the field, I know that Dabo will right this ship. However, it may take until next season to actually see the improvement.

Since I know Dabo reads all the posts on Tigernet, I figured I would offer my thoughts on what needs to happen moving forward.

1- Time for Tony Elliot to take a head coaching position. Tony is a Clemson guy and I for one appreciate all he has done for Clemson. 1 bad season is not going to change my overall perception of Tony Elliot. Football is a tough profession, and sometimes both sides need a change. Just ask Andy Reid in Kansas City. Tony will be a great head coach of that I am certain.

2- Just like Brent Venables has meant everything to the defense, it is time to make the same quality hire on the offense. There are a lot of good offensive minds out there looking to make their mark, and money is no issue. It is hard to listen to Robert Griffin during our game call out how archaic the play calling is and how the offense has a lack of creativity. Time to make the splashy hire and get the offense going again.

3- Danny Pearman needs to earn his salary and bring in some players from the transfer portal. Dabo needs to change his stance on the portal and take advantage of what may be out there. We do not need much, but we need to plug some holes. Better to plug holes with good, reliable 3 star players that might have started for a couple of years somewhere, then to try to force a freshman into a starting role too soon as we have seen this year on the O-line. We have lost a lot of players to the portal. Need to reload the ranks through recruiting and a few transfers to bridge the gap until the younger players are ready.

4- Additional changes needed on the offensive coaching staff? Do we have right people coaching positions on offense? Seems like we have a lot of old Clemson guys as position coaches, but are they the best available coaches?

As fans we have gotten spoiled in the last 10 years. Super proud to wear my Clemson colors and that will never change. Keep in mind it is not life and death, it is football. It is always darkest before the light of day. We lost 5 straight to the coots before we won 2 national titles. Clemson has made a living under Dabo when the world has been against us. We are going to be ok!!
