He said he wants to feel at home? Hmmm, sounds like we might have a good shot.

Re: Recruit Update: Interview with Montravius Adams

The 24/7 guy asked quite a bit about Clemson, and Montravius had alot of really nice things to say about Clemson. In fact, he said more heartfelt things (positive) about Clemson than he said any other school. Said he loved the hill, loved the coaches, and really like the idea of playing with RN, saying they both could make a great d-line.

My take, is that he's leaning heavily towards Clemson (just from what I got out of the video), but he's not 100% comitted to anyone, and won't be comitting until signing day. Basically, we have the lead with Auburn and UGA being a little behind.

Alot can change over the course of 6 months, so MA is not a "lock" to Clemson by any means IMO.

I said it before

I'm not sure if it would "seal the deal", but two things that may put us over the top and we need to accomplish: Beat Auburn and get his Mother and Girlfriend here on campus for a home game. In the meantime, sure wish he'd mentioned that some of our commits were in his ear showing him some sincere attention.

I didn't get that vibe at all.

Aug 2, 2012, 7:04 PM [ in reply to Re: Recruit Update: Interview with Montravius Adams ]

I listened to him speak and tried to hear it as unbiased as I possibly could and I don't necessarily think he's a Clemson lean. For one, he thinks highly of the SEC as he mentioned it several times. Two, he seems to be in much more personal contact with Auburn recruits who are selling him hard. Three, his opinions on Clemson didn't seem to be overly flattering compared to others like Auburn.

I personally think Auburn has the lead as of right now. Imagine if you're in his shoes and you are making friends with guys that are going through the recruiting process too. These guys will also land on campus at the same time, experiencing a lot of things together.

I REALLY hope we get this kid but in order to do so, I think we're going to have to turn the recruitment of him up a notch.

My thoughts exactly. You can tell he really likes Auburn...I think it's going to take a lot for us to get the guy.

If you came out of that video thinking Adams is "a heavy Clemson lean", you've got to reevaluate how you're looking at things, because it was all-Auburn in that video.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

sounds like auburn lean to me

Aug 5, 2012, 8:38 PM [ in reply to I didn't get that vibe at all. ]

-he's already been there 4 times.

-of the schools he's interested in its the closest to Vienna.

-he's putting a lot of importance on the place where his Mom is most comfortable, and if she wants him close by, that's going to be Auburn.

-absolutely have to get his Mom on campus, and a win against Auburn and a lackluster season by them would be helpful.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

He really doesn't want to give anybody the lead yet does he?

Aug 2, 2012, 1:13 PM

Really milking the recruiting period for all it's worth. Can't say I blame him, you only get to be a recruit once.

A place that feel like home, bingo!***

Said he hears from Auburn players every day.....

Aug 2, 2012, 5:44 PM

Ummmm isnt that an NCAA violation?

Re: Said he hears from Auburn players every day.....

Aug 2, 2012, 5:55 PM

Foster, the highly regarded in-state LB, is leading the Aubie recruiting charge and Adams is his top priority. He's been in his ear for weeks.

Aug 2, 2012, 6:22 PM

Ohh got it. Didnt realize he was talking about Reuben Foster, another recruit. Thought he was talking about an active player, which I believe would be a violation

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

It's between Aubarn, Clemson, and Tenn.

Aug 2, 2012, 10:15 PM

When they mentioned them 3 schools he lightened up like "Yeah! I like them!"

If this young man signs with us, we will have one of the best, if not the best, defenses in the country, and the depth we will have will be a killer for most other programs. I hope Montravius sees the family values and atmosphere we offer and chooses us. Whoever gets him will be getting a great player who takes care of business.

Does anyone else get tired of.......

Aug 4, 2012, 6:59 PM

Sure U look for that, but its like no one has anything
else to say.

Agree...

Aug 4, 2012, 7:36 PM

I want a player to feel like an outcast, not at home and just be miserable.

;)

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

What an odd thing to complain about. What would

Aug 5, 2012, 9:56 PM [ in reply to Does anyone else get tired of....... ]

What doesn't get old is hearing them say
"I am going to Clemson"!

If feeling like a family plays into that decision, I am all for it.
