Ranking ACC Basketball Coaches

Rankings based on game preparation and in-game strategy and adjustments. 3 Categories A)Very best --Coach K,Bennett,Brey,Pitino,Boehiem B)Better than average--Larranaga,Williams,Brownell,Dixon, C)Not very Good--Roy boy,Gottfried,Hamilton,Manning,Gregory. No rating for Christian because of talent level but probably in group B. Recruiting is a very important part but not included in this list. What say you?

Kinda hard to argue with that.

I'm not sure Brey should be in that elite group. Or maybe make another group above that with K, Bennett, Boeheim, and Pitino. Then make Tier 2 with Brey, Brownell, and Larranaga.

Mostly spot on. Larranaga is close to being in the A group. You need to add a D group for Hamilton and Gottfried. Got no clue what to do with talent. Terry Holland-esque.

Wolfie,you are correct,probably giving those two more credit than they deserve. Hamilton,to his credit,largely stays out of the way and lets the longtime assistant do what little coaching there is. Saw how poor Gottfried was when a brought a very talented Alabama team to the regionals in Greenville and they were clueless. He still is clueless.

Larranaga is looking at coach of the year and first place with a team that doesn't have the kind of talent the others in the top 5 of the standings has.
