Question about CFB Championship

Nov 29, 2017, 3:27 PM

Assuming we win (and we will) on Saturday, we should remain at #1. Does that put us in the Sugar Bowl against #4 or in the Rose against #3?

Sugar I believe, by being #1 we are give location advantage.

Can you imagine 1st round in N'Orleans and the natty in Atlanta? Talk about a double home field advantage.

#1 Seed gets to choose which bowl they want to appear in for the semi-final game and #4 has to follow them. #2 would then get the remaining site with #3 following them there. For example, if #4 is an SEC team (and the Sugar Bowl being nearby to that SEC school), the #1 Seed might opt for the Rose Bowl to take away any "home field" advantage of the SEC team in the Sugar.

However, so far, the top seed has historically chosen the closest one to their campus. But it's up to the #1 seed and everybody else has to react to that.

1 plays 4 and 2 plays 3. If this weeks top 4 win this week-end, we play Wisconsin in the Sugar Bowl and Auburn plays Oklahoma in the Rose Bowl.

The way I understand it, the higher seed plays in the closest bowl.

I believe it is #1 vs #4 is Sugar Bowl, and #2 vs # 3 in Rose Bowl.
