DJ better come out smoking or he should have a short leash, but my thinking is Dabo will stick with him until it’s too late. I hope not, but we’ll see.

I am curious about our thinking Dabo will late too late to make a decision. What history do we have which supports this thinking? While we know Dabo will not make a hasty decision with a short hook he has always moved forward in a reasonable way.

Unlike the situation when Watson and Lawrence came aboard, potential between the two may be near equal (if D.J. Lives up to potential). If that is the case, it will take play time to determine the best player. They have 3 or 4 games to make a decision, considering Wake’s q.b. is injured. Before halftime in the State game we’ll know who the starter will be, unless Dabo is willing to take it on the chin for the starter.

Watson should have started from the opening snap in 2014. We beat UGA IMO.

Put them BOTH in the game at the same time! That will give DCs something to think about it!

If I recall correctly, Dabo played DW in a couple of series early against UGA. Hope Dabo does the same with CK.

Yes he came about our last series of 1st quarter and lead them to a TD. Think that was it for playing time though.

I think it would be good to get Cade some experience against the 1s and not just the 2s or 3s. I expect that's what will happen. Building redundancy into a position is just prudent thinking.

I'd rather it be a combination of speed, decision making

accuracy and out playing a much better DJ getting him in the line up than just his speed.

Look back at how the first 3-4 games of 2018 were handled. KB played 3 series then TL played 3 series and whoever had the hot hand got the playing time after that. As I remember, that turned out pretty well.

DJ was getting rave reviews in camp, but article says "he needs to improve his accuracy."
QB coaches say no one ever improves their accuracy. They either have it or don't.
Tajh Boyd was missing the same throws to the flat as a Senior he was missing as an underclassman.

Same with KB. All the news on how he got a QB trainer all off season 2017 etc. About the same scenario and news you heard about DJ in the off season. KB, like DJ made some nice throws... Really hope DJ has improved on every aspect but definitely looking off receivers and going through his progressions.

The Air Raid will help whoever is at QB.
Some of DJU's problems were related to "no outlets" to pass it to at times. When WR did come open it's like he was surprised they were open; didn't have his feet set and missed many. The OL being somewhat porous didn't help. His parents divorce now settled didn't help while he was across the country. His injuries didn't help.
I think DJU could be the sole reason for a less than stellar year on offense; but I think it's bigger than DJU5.
We are going to have an outstanding year at QB!
