Prayers to start the season

Before our Tigers take the field Monday night, I want to start a prayer for each member of the team. Each game I’m going to purposefully pray for a group of players and coaches. By the end of the regular season, each and every player and coach will have received prayers.
Today I pray for Barrett Carter, Justin Mascoll, Tyler Davis and Keith Adam’s Jr. I pray that they have peace of mind and faith in their souls, that their health is safeguarded and that they are blessed with traveling mercies as the head to Atlanta. ?????

That's a good prayer. While I don't believe in trying to influence God's favor for one team over another. I always pray for the safety of both teams. However since Dabo has been there and has been vocal about his mission, his words, "God put me on this stage to win souls for Jesus, but I know if I'm going to remain on this stage, I've also got to win most of the games". With that said I have no problem praying for Dabo's mission to be successful.

I don’t ask for any influence on any game. I only ever ask that they are wrapped in protective prayers. I pray the same for my friends and family ?

Great idea.

I look forward to seeing your posts every week.

I never pray for a victory. When I was coaching, I would pray for physical safety for both teams. I would pray that God will keep our guys focused and able to play to the best of their ability. And, I would pray that God will be glorified and His kingdom edified by the players I coached.

Normally before our players came out of the locker room I would go out onto the field and walk all the way around it (normally the track that surrounded the field since I was a HS coach) praying that prayer as I "prayed a hedge of protection" for both teams.

the absolute best game they possibly can - so that our guy keeps the platform he has been blessed with to keep telling the Good News.



I'm sure the Creator of the Universe doesn't give a whole lotta about who wins - but He does say that He shows favor to those who trust him and are obedient - 1 Samuel 7 (I think)
