Clemson DB involved in a car wreck
Terrible news to report. Clemson had to block off an area of Highway 123 and US-93 to work a wreck that had injuries on Wednesday. The serious wreck happened around 3 p.m. involving a Dodger Charger that collided with a USPS truck which caused it to flip into oncoming lanes of traffic near Hwy. 123 Read Update » |

I had an uneasy feeling this morning when I saw this on the morning news. They didn't mention any names or if a player was involved. I just had a feeling that they were leaving something out of the story.

If both drivers went to the hospital, and Fred had no injuries...does that mean he was a passenger?
Or, was he taken to the hospital as a precaution?

You can see the air bag for the passenger side did but i can tell or see the other. I feel for the usps driver. He just has no chance with those old rigid vehicles.

Charger and USPS traveling southbound, and 2 northbound vehicles that collided after the initial accident … Or vice versa?

The mail truck. Either way glad nobody was killed. I heard the mail driver had a broken back. Sounds like it could have been worse.

Scary. Just shows things can happen anytime anywhere and statistically they are more likely near home because you spend more time there. I drove 1500 miles last week on a trip. Didnt have any close calls but we were lucky. You could go a mile to the post office and get hit. Please watch it. AAnd for gosh sake put your car in park before leaning out a door. A lady killed hereself reaching for a dropped card out the door. SHe hit the gas and got pinned between car and building

Or, you can go a mile from home with a heavy foot, run into the back of a post office mail carrier. I don't know what the charges will be, but, it can be driving to fast for conditions causing an accident with serious bodily injury!!! That will mean that you're in deep trouble son!!!!

The article mentioned two injuries. Later in the article it says Fred was not injured. Towards the end, it states that the injured drivers were sent to the hospital after treatment at the scene. Reading between the lines, I would suspect the two other drivers who ran into each other to avoid the mail truck included Fred. Seems like the speeding Charger's driver would have been transported to the hospital in addition to the mailman. Guess we'll have to wait for further information.

Interesting perspective. I had assumed Fred had rear ended the mail truck.
Hopefully the injured make a full recovery.
