Prayer Request please. Last September I was held by 3 armed teenagers. One

of them I was trying to help. They caught him the same day. He has been in jail since September 10th 2020. During the robbery they hit me in the head with a pistol the pointed the gun against my forehead demanding to know where all of my guns were. One of them grabbed 3 backpacks which happened to have several guns, Ammo and my fishing backpack. This happened during the day at about 2 pm. The kid they caught was wearing an ankle monitor. The other 2 are still free. This kid I tried to help will not turn them in.
This why a kid I was trying to help get his life back together. He actually was casing me the entire time.
My fear is if this kid makes bail he and the other 2 may come after me or my daughter. I am worried about my safety but I more concerned about my daughter. Since Wednesday when I found out he was up for a bond hearing on Monday my anxiety has had been off the charts. I am the only eyewitness to this robbery.
I have to write a letter so the solicitor can read it to the judge on Monday. In this letter I have explain .why I do not want this kind to get out on bond. Unfortunately I can’t appear before the judge because it’s a computer hearing through WebX with no set time for his hearing. This would mean I would have watch hearings until his came up.
I sincerely ask for your prayers for me and my daughter. And please pray that this kid who is 17 years old does not get out on bail. If he will break into my home with a gun wearing an ankle monitor what will he do when he makes bail. He is facing a minimum of 15 years to life.

I was in my home when they managed to get in. It happened about 2:00 pm and there were 2 men working about 75 yards from my condo. 2 of them are still running free.
What is so sad is it has affected my daughter who lives with me. I just thank God every day she was not here when it happened.
Thank you to everyone for your advice, thoughts and prayers. I sleep with a firearm by my pillow and never leave without it.
As far as this kid knowing I had guns I can only guess the kid knew I had guns because he told me he wanted to learn how to repair guns. Wanting to help him we talked about gun repairs and opportunities. I focused on Education and I talked to him about Jesus Christ and attending church. I hope to turn a kid around and show him all people were not racist.
He repaid my helping hand by entering my home and what did not belong to him.
I was trying to help this kid get back into school because I am friends with several faculty and the Principal of the HS. We meet while I was walking my dog. Now I am armed everytime I answer my door.
What concerns me so much is he tried to get me to go with his friends for target practice. I believe if I had gone that day they may have killed me.
If this kid wearing an ankle monitor issued by the juvenile court will use a gun to rob me in my own home there is no telling what he will do.
I have learned a lot since this incident. Now regardless of who I am talking to I am very careful what I say. Because you never know who may be listening.
I no longer go to big retail stores for any guns, Ammo or accessories. I deal with a small family owned store and the same person every time.

than being in a war as it is totally unexpected and never should have happened. Completely destroys faith in mankind- at least in a true war zone you have the understanding that the other guy has the same intentions as you and hold no grudges and when you move on, you don’t have to carry the fear with you. Praying for peace of mind for you and your daughter. And for a long sentence for the criminal- we need a law that would make anyone who won’t give names of the other guys serve the other guys' time in prison too after their own term is up. .

up a prayer for you right now. A couple years ago my husband was robbed at gunpoint. They immediately used his credit card at a drive through so the driver was charged and spent brief time in prison. He, too, wouldn't give up the names of the others who actually held the gun so they are wandering around in the upstate.

Hope things turn out well WU. My wife and I were talking this last night about people during weather problems. Who would you let into your house to get out of bad weather? It almost must be someone you know because letting a stranger in has gotten to the dangerous point. The same can be said of WU's situation. You can't really help people like you would want to because you don't know them so therefore can you trust them ? Sad shape our world is in right now.

Seriously, you don't need an AR15. A simple handgun will do the trick.
Imagine something like this happening again and an AR15 getting onto the streets into the hands of a violent criminal. They could cause a lot more harm, much more quickly than a handgun.
Otherwise, why stop there??? Why not get an Apache helicopter. That should do the trick.

Very tragic. Please everyone pray for the families of those who were killed or injured. Even the suspect deserves our prayers as God commands us to pray for our enemies to. At times I have found that very difficult to do but with God’s strength I have been able to do so. Please realize I could not have prayed for these kids without the strength and compassion God has shown to me. So I give him all of the credit.
My situation seems minor compared to an event like this. It is so sad to hear about incidents like this. Innocent people left friends and families behind. Thank you for sharing this story. We now live in a different world. It is vital that we are prepared to protect ourselves.
For those who do not want to carry a gun there is an plastic gun which shoots out pellets with pepper spray and another chemical that can bring down a suspect. You can find more information this about this product on YouTube.
It has been an emotional few days and I am so grateful to all of those on Tigernet who have given me support, thoughts and prayers. May God Bless you and your family. Thank you so much.

Wait wait wait.......so you’re argument is that just because guns are present, that means they are loaded and pointed at everyone who walks in the door? That seems a little irrational, just like every anti-gun argument in history.
I know you hate the big mean black scary looking AR15, but if the psycho who killed those people saw someone with an AR at the ready, this never happens. Why, because they are excellent tools for self defense.

I'm in favor of 2nd amendment. Prefer handguns myself. My first 3 guns was a 16 gauge, a 22 and a 12 gauge pump.
However, there is no need for civilians to have similar weapons that are used by military. All of my Military friends agree.

Sorry man but if you’re against “assault rifles” (lol) then you’re anti gun.
And you’ve proven my point beautifully about how uniformed anti gunners who know nothing about guns have the strongest opinions. You were so outraged by me suggesting that the OP get an AR you tried to lecture me about a weapon you know nothing about.
The M4 issued to the military is nothing like the civilian AR15 other than how it looks. Automatic rifles are illegal in this country and have been for many years. The AR15 is obviously not an automatic weapon, and functions the exact same as pretty much EVERY handgun made. It’s just easier to shoot and be accurate (which is probably an important thing when a woman or old man is using one to defend his life from a home invader) than a handgun and has more stopping power than most handguns (a 357 or 44 magnum revolver or pistol blows an AR out of the water, but are very hard to handle).
That is why it is by far the most effective tool for self defense. It meets every criteria for effectiveness and despite it looking like a big mean gun, it is safer for civilians to use.
And I call BS on you knowing a bunch of military men who want the AR banned, because they know what the difference between the weapons are. Now I’m sure there are former military who are anti gunners, so spare me the link. It’s by far the exception, not the rule.
Look up gun crime and find out how most of it is caused by a pistol, and rarely ever by AR15s.

I am sorry (partsunknown) to disagree with you but if we had not escalated our attacks in WWI , WWII, The Korean War, Vietnam and the wars in the Middle East our enemies would not have received our intentions or gotten the message. We are in it to win or settle our differences in our favor. Especially with the Japanese. I thank God that today the Germans, the Japanese and South Koreans are now our friends and allies. And South Korea, Japan and Germany would not be prosperous and free. In WWII the Marshall plan was genius by Chief of Staff Warren. We are trying to help the Middle East as well.
Thank you for all those who have or are currently serving in our Military.
Unfortunately we had to escalate police action to bring down criminals like John Dillinger, Bonnie and Clyde and others who killed many police officers to Justice.
I have always been taught that the best defense is a really good offense.

I was walking home to Thornhill through Calhoun apts. My roommate and myself were attacked by a gang of 8 dudes from Anderson. A couple guys were students at Anderson College and they were invited to a Fraternity party on campus. They invited several friends that were not students at Anderson but gang buddies. I had my orbital socket and nose busted with gun and my roommate got kicked on ground to the point hus spleen and kidneys were bleeding. I had to have reconstructive surgery by a plastic surgeon in Anderson.
That said, the guy with gun pitched it into bushes after and was actually caught on campus with 2 others. The gun was stolen and the same guy had beat up a State Trooper on I-85 during a traffic stop 2wks before. I went to court to testify and the guy with pistol only got 2.5yrs and he owed me restitution for medical bills. I got one payment of $35 and never another penny. I remember about 14mos later I got a letter saying he had been released and I was still at Clemson. Had a little anxiety for few months but I passed after month or 2.
I think you can probably feel confident that a teenager probably won't want to immediately head back to prison for doing something obvious. While a protection order promises nothing, it shows your intent of no contact. Obviously you are not opposed to guns so I suggest a CWP to help calm your nerves. But, I would suggest that this kid knows you were trying to help, he probably understands why he is in jail, and very likely has zero animosity towards you.
I can definitely sympathize with your concern but you didn't cause the issue so retaliation wouldn't be expected unless there has been continued threatening communication.

ICA Tiger I am so sorry for you and your friend. I will continually pray for you and your friend. It’s the judges that need to experience something like what you went through then maybe they put them under the prison.
Back in 1990 Jug s were on this kick that some people can be reformed. One day this kids will face a Judge, God Almighty who will not be so easy.
Thankfully, being an eyewitness this kid if convicted will serve a minimum of 15 years to life. He was out on bond for a juvenile offense so I hope the judge will throw the book at him and deny bond. The toughest part right now is writing a letter that will be read to the judge as to why I don’t think this punk deserves bond. I think he is a flight risk.

I have always been a manly man and not usually let my emotions show. But when I presented my case to the judge, I busted out and started crying. Not sure if it was the fear of gun in my face, the thought of how close to being shot, or the pure hate towards the guy that made me endure the pain from what was a great night.
I remember the guy asked me for a cigarette and I didn't smoke but I had a bunch Tootsie Rolls in my pocket and I offered him one. He grabbed it and guy came from behind me and hit me in back of head. So I even tried to be nice and give them some candy to end up in an Ambulance with my roommate. Had so much blood pouring out of nose from eye socket they though I had bad internal injuries at the infirmary.
I can feel your pain and concern. 3 guys were charged with Lynching in my case but only one got time. They didn't tell on the other 5 guys. There was another guy in the infirmary with broken arm that the same gang yanked him and his girlfriend off his scooter. She had mild injuries from trying to protect her boyfriend.
I have always been surprised at the lack of school involvement in the entire case. I never talked to a school official but only investigator from Clemson police. I guarantee if that happened today there wouldn't be a lack of response, it was a different era.

ICATiger, don’t feel bad about your emotional reaction in front of the judge. When the victim advocate called me Wednesday to tell me one of the guys was up for a bond hearing coming up on Monday tears began to ran down my cheek because of the emotions and affect this event still has on me.
Unfortunately these days you never know what some one will do. If I appeared before a judge I would be very emotional too. You reaction was normal. In fact since Wednesday I have had really bad anxiety and some tears. I am more concerned about my daughter than myself.
I admire your courage for sharing your story. It has helped me a lot. Thank you for sharing your experience. All of the post have been very beneficial and so supportive. Thank you to all who have posted and may post later. I am thankful for ever one of them.

Definitely praying for you. I'd do what most have suggested but especially blueridgeyawner. Pack and get the phone app and protection order he can't come within 500 feet of you and your daughter.
You're safe at home with your AR. Try to stay in public places and preferably with someone with your daughter. Both packing all the time. If he violates, report immediately and hopefully the first violation his butt breaks bond agreement and violates it. Then he'll have to remain in jail.
I know you'd hate to but if they're gang related and hard core thugs, you and daughter may have to pursue witsac? Protection. Unless you can move across town. That may be your only true option for peace of mind when in public.
As everyone has stated, trust in God, but you're already obviously a true Christian and know what to do. ??

I recommend a daily awareness ritual in which you identify your readiness and acknowledge the current situation. Live your life without fear but be ready at the same time. I typed out some stuff and decided it probably best if I don’t say it.
Just be careful. Get a easy to use handgun, even with a .22, most thugs don’t hang around to see what’s shooting at them. However, I prefer my 9mm. An AR isn’t very practical for home use by 99% of the population. Bullets are tough to find and expensive right now. Message me what caliber you got and I’ll send you enough to fill a magazine if you are having trouble finding what you need.

The one confidence I have is how to handle firearms. When I got my CWP I missed by 2 points from a perfect score. And that is with back spasms. But I really appreciate your advice outlaw1081. I do a lot of practicing as if it some shooting at me. The guy who taught my CWP class told us practice and continued training was very important. I try to practice once a week creating different situations.

You may not like this suggestion, but get a couple of German shepherds. It would take a lot of space to tell about two ladies, that I worked with, whose lives were more than likely saved by their two shepherds, when some ######### tried to break in their home. I know that's not going to help your situation now, since you would probably have to get them as pups, but they may come in handy in the future. Anyway, we will be praying for you and your families safety, and that justice will be done.

I know how disappointing that is to try and help someone when they don't have any appreciation for your efforts at all, but when they come back, and ROB you, it is time to nip that in bud long term, or forever bc, next time you may not be so lucky to just get roughed up a little, and when chit like that happens, you're lucky they didn't kill you the first time.
My suggestion sounds cruel, and uncaring, but their assault on wueagle86 was just that also. I say that the eye for an eye method is usually the best way to deal with that kind, and young criminals are the worst criminals bc they just don't think about, or don't care about the consequences if they are caught, bc, they don't believe that they will ever be caught. Being the judge, the jury, and the executioner is the best policy, bc it is your right, and they will never Rob you ever again. Case Closed!!!!

I recently saw a video, of the sentencing of a young guy, who was convicted of murdering a fifteen year old boy. The victims mother was asked if she had anything to say before the sentence was handed down. She repeatedly broke down as she tried to speak. The whole time she was trying to speak, the young punk that killed her son grinned and on occasion would break out into a chuckle. When the lady had finished, the judge asked the jack ### if he had anything to say. He turned to the court room audience, still grinning and told his buddies peace out y'all I'll see y'all in a bit. Because of his total lack of remorse, the judge sentenced him to life in prison. Because of the current stupidity of our legal system, it is doubtful he will serve a life sentence. All this makes me wonder, just where is our society headed. If you are a second amendment supporter, arm yourself and learn how to use your weapon. If you are anti gun rights, people like the ones wueagle encountered and kids like the one in my story, don't care where you stand when they put their weapon to your forehead.

when started early, like age 10 or less. As you have discovered, the image of the troubled teen turning his life around as glamorized in movies is a rare thing. It happens, but the risks are great.
I started with a guy when he was 10. He is now 16, and unfortunately some of the acting out behaviors he had when 10 are becoming more adult oriented rather than getting better. Some of the objective measures I have set for him haven't been met, and I have been thinking it is time to back out of this one and pick up another grade schooler, for exactly the reasons you mention. This kid is nearing the age where he could ask me for something significant - co-sign for a car, etc - and when I don't do it I can't predict what this kid will do. I have been bouncing back and forth, and your story is giving some weight to that alternative. Thank you for sharing the story.
I work through a program here that recruits both mentors and mentees, and they do a great job of setting up an environment with the type of objectives you have described. I know you will want to get past this before you consider helping anyone else, but if you would like to discuss how to do that with little to no risk, t-mail me.
I asked Him just now to give you peace that you are doing the right thing, and that He is protecting you no matter what happens. Home is not here. You have one no one can take from you.

Since is done through WebX remote hearing all I can do is have the prosecutor read a letter from me and my daughter. I spoke with the prosecutor so he could get an understanding of the emotional damage this punk has done to us.
I have my CWP, a Smith & Wesson along with God on my side. I don’t take the trash out or walk outside without S/W. But thank for the advice. Thank you to all of you for your thoughts and prayers. It has really lifted my spirits.

Wueagle, I am so sorry for what you experienced. My family also endured the tragedy of a criminals actions. I understand the anxiety as I lived it. The perpetrator is now deceased. Not until I got that news did I rest easy again.
My hope is that you would move for your safety and peace of mind if at all possible. If not, a camera system like Ring is invaluable. Still, prayer is always the greatest weapon available to any of us. I’d practice more with that than anything. Godspeed.

I’ve been involved with that type of situation several times and if they did not kill you or hurt you during the robbery then you are going to be ok! The kid told the wrong friend about you and it became an opportunistic stickup. If the kid professionally cased you or was involved with “killers” then they wouldn’t have been caught and you would at the very least been hurt bad enough to not pursue legal help.
On another note I understand the dread and fear of having a Gun stuck in your chest as well as one put to the back of your head and also fighting with a grown man over a loaded pistol. It is some of the worst psychological terrorisms and you should probably seek a counselor or even a psychiatrist but those guys couldn’t be melted and poured near you. The one who should be worried is the kid who said u had all these guns and what not.cause he is going to juvie/prison and I hope he can ask for your forgiveness one day.
Hope you understand that I mean no disrespect and I pray you gain back your sense of security.

The kid age 17 was casing me from the start. I believe he even tried to set me up to be murdered. The only reason he was apprehended is because head wearing an ankle monitor because of a juvenile offense. He through home invasion robbed me at Gun point. I was hit in the back of the head with the pistol. I suffered 2 weeks of by headaches among other symptoms from the concussion. After they hit me over the head with the revolver the gun was then put against my Forehead. I could then see the gun was loaded. They grabbed 3 backpacks in broad daylight.
As the only eyewitness what makes you so sure they will not hurt me or my daughter. You seem pretty sure of this. Why? 2 of them have yet to be caught and the guy in jail will not identify them. So again you seem pretty sure that I am safe. Again I ask you why? From day one the kid they have in jail was casing me and invited me to his friends house to shot guns. This where I believe they would have possibly killed me.
The kid came into my condo uninvited to see if anyone else was home then knocked on my door telling me he dropped something in my room. This is when he brought two friends in and committed the armed robbery.
What would you do differently TigerFurLife??
