Two weeks ago in Charleston, Nick Collins, a Clemson Alum was in a horrible wreck which ejected him from the vehicle and left him lying on I-526. Another passenger from the car attempted to pull him to saftey however was stopped short and Nick's lower half was run over by a large truck crushing nearly every bone in the bottom half of his body. The prognosis at first was very bleak however doctors now believe nick will survive although one leg has been amputated and he has numerous surgeries and months of rehab ahead of him. He is still in an induced coma however they hope to bring him out of that in the next few days
If you attended Clemson between 2005 and 09 Nick was a big part of the music scene downtown playing gigs at the various bars several times a week. Nick is the type of guy that is friends with everyone and has always been very gracious in Clemson and Charleston offering his talent for charities and fundraisers and now needs our help. There will be a fundraiser tonight at Midtown Grill in Charleston and another next week at the Windjammer on IOP. Even if you are not able to attend I would ask that you keep Nick and his family in your prayers and if anyone knows how to get Mickey to add Nick's name to the big list I would appreicate it.
