I'm not sure he's available.

This article makes a hair more sense than an earlier one I saw. Haire, Jackson, LeCroy & Bakich are legit candidates IMO.

The first 2 are not leaving their schools. They have it made and have already turned us down in the past. Several others are coaches at ACC schools. That would be not be a step up. Just my opinion.

Never say never. At this point, either of them might be ready for a change. Most importantly, the stakes are up moneywise, according to what we are hearing from Graham Neff. Did anyone think that Brian Kelly would leave ND for LSU?

Kevin O'Sullivan is obvious, bwhy anyone even mentions him is beyond me.

But Link Jarrett to my knowledge has never interviewed at Clemson and never told Clemson no. He isn't untouchable, he's from the south and he's never coached north of North Carolina before taking the ND job, he's only been at Notre Dame for 2 full seasons plus the shortened 2020 season. Maybe he's happy there, being at a private school does have its advantages when it comes to filling the scholarship gaps left by the 11.7. But, that being said, the NCAA has screwed them with seeding 2 years in a row in the tournament, weather is horrible until about mid-April, recruiting base is tough in northern Indiana, and the current ND facilities are about a half step above JL Mann HS. I think Link Jarrett probably does pass on Clemson in the end, in which case I'd love Scott Jackson as my backup, but I wouldn't just dismiss him all together.

Is LeCroy being considered in MLB manager openings? Personally, I’d like to see a coach more connected with the college game (recruiting, roster scholly management, a coaching style aligned with college talent).

I would also rather see an experienced and proven college coach. Not sure whether or not LeCroy has been considered for MLB openings.

Bakich clemson ties…Mcdonell sc ties and Louisville administration is a dump…godwin ecu guy through and through and wants to take them to Omaha…Jarrett more clemson has to offer especially the weather and facilities as well as hot bed recruiting down here. Sullivan…no chance but give it a try.

Yep. Sully is number one on the list. Almost certainly a “No”, but make him say it after you offer up a nice raise. Of course, I’m playing with (Clemson) house money, so my opinion means nothing…

Michigan was only .500 in a weak Big Ten, 32-26 overall. Had a pitcher ejected from Big Ten Tourney for using a foreign substance in his glove.

Why? O'SULLIVAN might be a stretch...

Jun 1, 2022, 12:28 PM [ in reply to Re: Possible replacements for Monte Lee ]

But Clemson is a much better job than VT or Notre Dame.

I have heard that Clemson is willing to pay top money for this coach. The top paid coach in D1 is Tony Vitello at Tennessee who just got a raise to $1.5 million. I did read where Corbin might be making $2 million but Vandy is not required to fully disclose his salary information.

If Clemson is willing to pay >$1.3 million they should be able to get the kind of coach that will ultimately make the difference.

Thats an impressive list of names. I was thinking, only joking Judge Keller, we should fire Brad and use his $2.5 million salary to get a baseball coach for $2 million, use $400,000 for baseball NIL money...wink wink, and then the remaining money we can hire a top HS basketball coach for $50,000. Since we as fans and as a university have gave up on basketball, it seems like a win win situation. Only joking Judge, I realize if we spent more money we would be in the Final Four every year with "The Brad".

Heck Wes Goodwin worked for Ron Polk back in the day see if he's interested. Imagine those headlines...D1 DC to coach football and baseball. I kid, we all need a laugh right now. Seriously though, if you want to throw the cash at someone see if Lemonis at Miss St. is interested. He's from SC and played at The Citadel with stops at Indiana & Louisville. Guy knows how to recruit, develop and win.

Count me in for a $5k donation if we somehow get Sully

Jun 1, 2022, 4:25 PM

I don't expect it at all, but its worth a try.

Link Jarrett is very intriguing. I'd probably prefer him over Szfec or Bakich

Matt LeCroy is probably a long shot as he is probably the next Nationals Coach, but I would not be unhappy with that choice.

Jackson/Haire are realistic options that would likely come, but not a big splash. Jackson is probably the better option of the two.

Godwin - not leaving ECU in my opinion. I see him as almost as unlikely as Sully, but not as big of a positive as Sully.

Strauss - I don't really get his inclusion on the list. I'd rather have Jackson and I can't imagine Jackson turning us down.
