Would Kelvin Sampson leave Houston for the ACC? He’s probably the most underrated and best coach out there… so I think Neff would hire him, probably not… we seem to be a hire a young new guy or up and comer type program… do we have an opening, no, this is just a fun hypothetical for if we don’t make the NCAAT next year and Neff fired Brownell as implied… but Sampson might not and probably wouldn’t after what looks like back to back final 4s, but man, he’s a heck of a coach.

This guy has a large NCAA target applied on his back since he departed OKLAHOMA in a storm of problems. Is he a good coach--yes. Has he learned to run a program within the rules; ??? mark. There are a ton of good coaches out there but correct ethics is not on each one's resume.
Need an example; check out Will Wade.

It was at Indiana where he got in trouble. What he got in trouble for was a bunch of phones calls which isn't breaking rules now.
BTW, he is from NC. I was always surprised NC State never threw the whole bank at him. Too late now...

Didn’t kelvin basically get in trouble for things that nowadays universities are openly marketing for recruits.? I doubt he’s much dirtier than most of the other top 25 teams coaches. It’s weird how folks are more open to forgiving folks who break actual laws than they are someone who broke recruiting rules.
In case anyone hasn’t noticed, there isn’t a governing body that enforces rules anymore. If schools can openly target recruit’s with promises of earning potential, what the heck could kelvin sampson get in trouble for?

I'd definitely take him but no way he would be interested. He is a bigtime power moving to the big 12, new arena, etc...
