I was cleaning off the DVR last night and watched some 2020 games... We really missed Amari. He was a beast for us. Next best thing for us after Hunter.

Not sure who the #6 WR would be but I love everyone of the players you are referring to.
The issue with 2022 was the lack of DL recruits and the 5-6 fall backs we had over the last few weeks. Several of these individuals did not even have a Power 5 offer and in most years would have been walk-on's. Sure, they may all show out but that probably won't be the case, most likely we get lucky with just one out playing their rating. As we saw last year, quality depth is of vital importance.
I am not ready to say we are no longer elite but there are signs recruiting is getting much more difficult. A CFP showing will go a long ways in strengthening our recruiting efforts and national standing among potential recruits.

Thanks for the list. Perspective is always good. But the issue, is after 6 years of being in the Top 4 and climbing the mountain twice, there's clearly a perception that recruiting should now be Top 4 year over year also.
Everyone falls in love with thos 5 star ratings, even though that isn't how Dabo & Co has done it. Man we just needed a QB and we were a playoff team again last year...

I think there's more to everyone's disappointment with the 2022 class. You have to take into consideration our misses and who we ultimately replaced them with.

We only took Caden Story from Auburn because Dabo hired Nick Eason. We were also very fortunate to land TJ Dudley so late in the process. Those two helped change the perception a little. Without those 2, we likely don't finish with a top 20 class. Instead, we landed both late and finished with the #14 class. But, I don't think any of us should feel comfortable with that ranking. We won't remain an elite program in the NIL/portal era by signing classes outside the top 10.

I think so much rides on the success of the upcoming season. This 2022 team has a chance to be special. This Defense should be one of the best Clemson has ever had. The question of course is O line play and QB play. The running game was pretty good last year and I expect it to improve. I like the young receivers. I think some of the problems last year were related to scheme. Hopefully with the coaching changes comes new energy and ideas.
If 2022 is a great year the recruiting will take care of itself.
