All pitches were a foot outside but she was not willing to accept a walk. Hard to blame her with the way the team is swinging the bats. 3 outs remain, show some fight and grind out a Win!!!

A walk is as good as a hit, it puts a base runner in play, and that changes the way the pitcher has to place the ball for fear of a wild pitch, Cagle should have taken a walk every time she come up to bat!!!

Very poor at bat ..... tried to walk her but she wouldn't take it ...... our girls are very good, but their inexperience is showing.
As for Duke, I despise everything about them, from the town, to the president of the university, to the bat girl .... no exceptions.

Given the lack of hitting and considering VC's previous at bat, seems like the best approach would be to take the walk gift, then try for a bunt to second. Thought the sixth was very critical to try at least for the tie. Was much more pressure to get a run in the 7th. Anyway, it was an outstanding season for just the 2nd one.

She could have went to the plate with a broom stick, and it wouldn't have made any difference bc, Duke wasn't about to throw her a strike anywhere in the strike zone, and they didn't!!!

Does anyone know what the softball bats they are using are made of? I have watched and played baseball and softball all my life but have never seen a bat break like the one that hit in in the back of her neck.
