There needs to be at least 1 QB.
And 1 OL, 1 DL and couple of DBs.
Take the chance! Please we are going to be woefully short of quality athletes (I do realize they may not fit the character that Dabo wants)
But we proved this year that DEPTH Matters.

Not when 1 or 2 decide to exercise the portal to leave. Big Dave will tell DJ to leave if his starter role is threatened.
And it will be....or we will see repeat of 2021

You have to plan on portal transfers when starters get benched. DJ faces this. Rattler is good example.

What 5-7 players in the portal would start at Clemson? You do understand that's why they are in the portal? Someone beat them out where they were.

There are plenty of talented kids in there. Just because they didn't start at their previous school doesn't mean they couldn't help us. I bet you could go through our starters and find plenty that didn't start their freshman year.
I saw plenty of 4 star wide receivers who were transferring. Do you think Will Swinney is more talented than them? He was starting for us down the stretch.
There's like 2000 kids in there so yes odds are there are 5-7 that can start at Clemson.

As long as DJ is on the roster, no one else will be starting at QB. Period. This year or next year. They are comitted to DJ, or All In I thinbk is our mantra.

I think we all know Dabo has been reluctant to use it and I don't disagree with that. I think its obvious now that he's going to have to some extent. I just get tired of folks acting like its devoid of talent that could help Clemson. I don't think many of those people have even taken at look at whose in there. I was giving the quickest examples I could find.
We have talent, but I guarantee we could find some upgrades out of 2000 D1 kids.

I agree that we DO need to finally dip into the portal, but you don't want to litter your roster with it. I'd say 2-4 guys, maybe less if the coaches feel good about Feb. Always want to grab the high school kids first.

Please be specific. Give us the names of those players you want to come to Clemson. Go on the record. The portal is not a magic wand where great players from Clemson magically appear.

I barely started scrolling and saw two 4 star DL. One is now committed to Tulane. Do you think he would have chosen Clemson if offered?

Maybe after evaluation these guys wouldn't pass Clemson's standard of talent or culture fit, but I bet there are a few out of the 2000 that would. Its the coaches jobs to go through and evaluate, but please don't act like there aren't plenty of talented players that could help us.

He's coming from TCU. I barely started scrolling. Who knows how good he is. The people who evaluate rate him 4 stars. I would imagine he would chose clemson over Tulane if offered.

We have 2 wide recievers in there that are rated at 3 stars a piece. Both contributed at clemson.
My point is, people need to quit acting like there aren't kids in there that can help. I don't like the portal myself, but we are going to have to use it. If Alabama can find kids in there that help then so can Clemson.
I agree with Dabo. It's hurting college football. Some high school kids are missing out because of it. Regardless, we need to use it and we are late to the party
