If you had to pick one...
A) We beat South Carolina (but NC State wins the ACC Atlantic)
B) Wake loses, NC State loses, and we get into the ACCCG (but we lose to USC)

No brained. Beat USC. If it were any other year where we were contenders for the NC I would definitely say win ACC. But this year I want to beat them down especially after they got out of a whipping last year.

A) but WAKE win.
Tough to lose the coot game but not the reason most would say. But because that would mean a 4th loss. We'd be a 4 loss champion. Not good for us or ACC.
Truth is we didn't do enough to earn the division. But beating coots and bowl is 10-3 and the narrative changes from we're broke and antiquated to we had injuries and growing pains but we turned it around and closed 8-1... With the only loss on the road to ACC champs Pitt.

Yeah, I'd take a Wake win and beating SC, that's why I thought making NC State win would make this a bit of a harder choice.
I think you're spot on though, I hadn't thought about the angle of the 4-loss champ. Oof.
And beating SC soundly would change our optics.

Gosh PaddlingTiger, a loaded choice you offer us.
Beating U.of S.Carolina AND AND AND NC State wins ACC Atlantic (instead of the more likely scenario in which Wake beats BC and therefore wins ACC Atlantic despite anything that NC State can do).
vs.
We lose to USC and the 10% miracle happens (NC State loses to UNC -AND- Wake loses to typhoid-Mary BC) ... and therefore are ACC Atlantic champs and get our revenge on "Karma" Pitt.
I'll go with Clemson beating each team that they play. Great if we beat the U of Shane Beamer Gamecocks. Even better if we obliterate the ShaneCocks.

If you grew up in SC and/or attended CU, then you know the State Championship takes precedence over all other games, playoffs, etc. I will be at Willy B on Saturday, and I'm planning on drink cheap ### beer and maybe some nasty convenience store food pregame just so I can get good and salty before I enter the roach. State Championship, nothing else matters!
