Clemson's Saturday early diagnosis of redshirt sophomore QB Taisun Phommachanh having a torn Achilles tendon has been confirmed, per a Clemson official (via WSPA's Pete Yanity).

Depends on the degree of tear. I would imagine a minimum of 8, likely longer.***

Well that sucks, especially since his mobility was option 1, 2, and maybe 3. Kid had wheels for sure. I hope he can use this time to fine tune his game can come back better than ever, even if it's not for us down the road.

He ends up “better for it”. Could end up pushing him to work harder and be even better and some time to study and slow the game mentally. I’m just glad he has our facilities and medical personnel available to help him. In the worst case scenario, I hope he heals and is healthy and gets a degree. But I also am pulling for him to come back as good if not better. He was in some tough competition between TL and DJU. He possibly would be lighting it up anywhere else.
