“ACC is 28-65 (.301) vs. other P5 leagues since 2018 and 12 of those wins are by Clemson. Rest of the league is an embarrassing 16-62. Five ACC teams are 0-for vs other P5 leagues, including marquee brands Miami (0-6), FSU (0-6) & VT (0-6).”
Everyone keep these stats in mind when people on this board compare the ACC to the SEC.

It took me a minute, but I guess you're saying Clemson is 12-3?

So our loses were to Georgia, Ohio and LSU. Two of those were National Champions the year of the loss.
Not too shabby...

Sure. Can *cheat* in either conference if that helps.

If we are going to throw out the 0-18 record of the three teams that would probably be the first we would pull with us (at least FSU and MIami) as a reason to leave, and then say the new environment will allow them to be successful again…well…I think we all see the issue there.

It's good timing for Clemson - if this happened 10 years ago, The Tigers might not be in the conversation.

So Right, for whatever their reasons are, it kills them to say, or admit that since Dabo Swinney became the head FB coach at Clemson, our FB program has become a top 5, Power 5 FB program, for some reason the majority of the sports media, and lot of fans hate Clemson, Dabo, and actually the fan base that makes it known, they are proud Clemson fans.
For the life of the world, I do not understand the hate that's always directed towards the Clemson FB program, and Dabo Sweeney, bc in everything that's suppose to be good, or loved, all most everything about Clemson, and Dabo fits in the Good & Love category bc, both only wants to help whoever that has been connected to part, or both, separated, or together, they only want to help peoples lives to be better if they are willing to apply themselves-and work at it. What is so terrible about that that causes the hate for both Clemson, and Dabo Swinney???
It's exactly as Swarley stated, but why not Clemson. Clemson has been a whole lot better FB program than any team in the ACC team in the Coastal, and the Atlantic divisions, but when the ACC teams are mentioned about joining the SEC to help that conference rule over all of college FB, the one ACC team as in Clemson that ruled over FB for the past 10-12 years, with 10 plus wins every year since 2011, yet Clemson isn't a preferred team by the media to be a part of a mega FB conference that the SEC wants to be the top Dog over all of college FB, and the sports media don't want Clemson to be in that conference, when all logical thinking screams to add the ACC Giant, Clemson.
What logical thinking could the sports media have, that doesn't include Clemson as the #1 choice out of all the ACC FB schools. There is only one reason, and that reason is they are afraid that Dabo would show them all that Clemson FB is equal to any team in the SEC after so many years of the sports media's continued song that Clemson couldn't play an SEC schedule and win like Bama, LSU, Florida, and Georgia. Put Clemson in the SEC, and it exposes the sports media myths that SEC players were better, bigger, stronger, taller, and faster than the players in all other conferences. They have preached that same song for years, and with Clemson in the SEC, they would have to add Clemson to their myth song, and how embarrassing would that be for them after so many years of their preaching that Clemson could not play in the SEC, and win. Plus that would bust the only bubble the coots have lived in for years!!!! Just think, when Clemson plays in the championship games, they will have to go out and buy Clemson gear like they buy the Bama, and UGA gear!!!

There is no Clemson hate or conspiracy to keep Clemson down. The media has pretty routinely voted Clemson among the top 3 in about every preseason poll. Clemson didn't even win their division last year. Uou should expect some criticism.

Vandy plays Wake in week 3 of the upcoming season. They also played Wake for a few seasons awhile back with the most recent one coming in 2013 which was won by Vandy. Vandy also beat wake in 2011 and 2012. Wake beat Vandy in 2010.

Vandy beat wake the last 3 times they played. That was James Franklin vandy. Wake won three in a row before that.

Tells me the ACC must have had a winning record in

2017 and probably some of the years prior, otherwise he wouldn’t have started this in 2018. Would like to see the actual results. Seems like Bama has played an ACC team to start the year every year almost during that period. UGA- GT, that ain’t happening. FSU won 5 straight over UF prior to UFs 3 game win streak. UL won 6 of 7 over UK prior to 3 game UK win streak. I find the total # games high for basically 3 years since only conf games the Covid year. My guess is he counted all the ND losses against the ACC for 2018,2019,2021 which would be 15 losses right there I believe. Not saying the ACC is better than the SEC at all but top to bottom I would stack it up against the other 3 over an extended period of time that accounts for teams cycling in/out. Looking at actual game results matter too because they may not be equitable matchups to give indication of conf avg strength

This is why folks continue to second guess the success of Clemson. Because week after week we beat up the weaklings of college football. That's one reason we need to leave but until then it is what it is. For whatever reason FSU , Miami and VT just can't get it going. That's all it would take. Not everybody. That's not realistic. But if those 3 returned to their previous prominence the ACC would rival the SEC and the B1G. Personally I've given up any hope that will happen.

Some folks are gluttons for punishment.
I can't ever remember D. Hale writing anything not intended to throw shade our way.
(He reminds me of that other idiot who used to work for the Charlotte Observer. Thankfully, all of his personal nightmares come true thanks to Dabo and Co.)
