..finishes fifth in the 200m Freestyle. Insignificant? No. Lia Thomas illustrates everything that is right with America post-Trump. A true Cinderella story, the Ivy League athlete has faced her ups and downs in collegiate swimming and was thought to have finally found her niche.

Destroying her competition with grace and power, she has been embraced as a pioneer. Unfortunately her last raced showed us you need more than male hormones to beat the best. If it doesn’t work out as a swimmer, I’m hoping you can reattach your prowess and beat men at cooking or washing dishes. I’m pulling for you, Lia.
