I think he may have lost the team. They lost to WSU, werent very competitive against Ohio State, and got ran over by Illinois. Yes Illinois. Wisconsin had 2 yds rushing. Birlema came in and has turned lowly Illinois into a competitive team. Chryst has slowly lost more and more and more. He has no personality and nothing about him is in the least exciting.Their highly rated qb has been absolutely dreadful. I think this was the right move

I'm 50/50 on this

Part of me thinks Chryst may have lost the team or his fastball this year. Something wasn't quite right.

You can argue he earned the right to finish the season to see if things could get turned around, but I really don't think that was going to happen.

Losing to Wazzu at home was a huge red flag that shocked everyone. I guess consecutive blowout losses to Ohio State and Illinois were more than their AD could stomach.

Thing is, their next 4 games are very winnable. Northwestern and Michigan State are both dog meat. They haven't lost to Purdue in ~20 years. Maryland has a good record but I don't see them beating Wisconsin in Camp Randall. In other words, don't be surprised if they go from 2-3 to 6-3.

IMO, there must have been something going on that isn't common knowledge because, otherwise, this was definitely too short a leash on Paul Chryst.
