Where is everyone parking in Athens? Didn't plan ahead last time I was there and ended up driving around for an hour+ looking for a spot. Any suggestions?

A few years back you could park around East Campus

and there was a shuttle bus. It was near the intersection of East Campus Rd. and the start of College Station Rd. I can't remember the name of the deck but it was near the UGA Vistor Center. There was also parking at the Intramural Field but it is a little further from the stadium and I don't know if there is a shuttle or not.
There's also deck parking downtown but when I lived there in the 90s it would fill up first thing on game days.

I'm a UGA grad. Here's one tip that always works for me. Drive to Milledge Ave, where a lot of the fraternities are, between Baxter Street and Lumpkin, smack in the middle of fraternity row. From there, go down one of the side streets. There's an optometry shop with a statue of a Bulldog. That's a good side street. You may have to go down 2-3 blocks, but then you can find a spot for free. Walk down Milledge and then down Baxter. Just follow the crowd to the stadium. Great atmosphere. One warning is that it's all downhill on the way to the stadium so of course, uphill on the way back but it's not that bad.

Also...several frats or businesses will have signs for parking for $10-$20. Don't do it. Like I said, go down one of the side streets and you may walk an additional two blocks but park for free. I've been going to UGA games for years. Never paid. It's a 15-minute walk. Just before the stadium, there's a tent with hotdogs and burgers for sale, pretty cheap, and on the right is Tate Center (student center) and there are bathrooms and restaurants inside, just about 200 feet from the stadium entrance. A good, air-conditioned, big place to hang out in if you're early and it's hot.

Parking in Athens SUCKS! If you are an opposing team fan, you are charged more or you are told that the lot is full. Better get there REAL early and prepare to walk a long and confusing distance to the stadium.

Seriously? That's not true. As long as your money is green, nobody cares. I'm trying to help you Clemson fans. Don't pay to park. Look off of Milledge Ave, on the side streets. Opposing fans don't get ripped off while parking in Athens. I've been to your campus and I can't imagine that parking on games days is a breeze, OR getting out of town once the game is over. I've tried to give you a great hint on one of the better places to park.

First hand experience...they are as jaded as they come in Doggie town. You've never been to my campus.

I've been to the Clemson campus many, many times. It's a fine campus. I don't have to call it a S*ithole like I've heard the UGA campus described here, just because we're playing you in a football game, but I get the trash talk. Okay, if you're ripped off and your cars destroyed while parking in Athens, I wasn't aware of it, and nope, nothing ever happened to my car in Clemson. My parking hint is still a good one, though.
