Over here in Sweden these folks

don't have any idea what football really is. They think it's played with a round ball with no pads or helmets at all. I've been wearing my bright orange fleece with giant tiger paw for the past two weeks while visiting here for work, and not one "Go Tigers!" has been uttered. My disbelief was saved one day though when I bellied up to the bar in my hotel and one of the young buck bartenders said "Clemson, right?" I said YES, FINALLY someone knows. He spoke in perfect english about losing the "natty" (did THAT have to be the phrase that made it over here??) and loving DW4, Dabo, MW7, and beating Alabama before. What a relief someone knew about us. It was cool to listen to him go on and on about our great reputation and program. Six time zones away the word has spread! =o) At least a little anyway.

Thats cool he knew. Other than that I wouldnt think many people would know of Clemson. Not surprising.

Don't feel too bad. I'm actually surprised you ran into somebody that knows about Clemson over there!

I imagine most people over there have little reason to pay any attention to U.S. college sports.

Exactly. He told me he was going to stay up all night for his Superbowl party too with a bunch of his friends, so there are some fans to be found here.

I was in a pub in London back in the late 80's

and had on my Clemson gear. People kept coming up to me and asking about William Perry. This was after he became famous with the Bears, but somehow they knew he played at Clemson. I didn't have to buy a beer all night.
