Outside of Notre Dame, what other major program could the ACC get?!

Jul 23, 2021, 11:53 AM

I think Penn St is the best option, but doubt they are willing to leave the B1G. West Virginia would prob be a distant 2nd option. Memphis could be a sleeper pick. Nebraska makes no sense geographically but I bet we could get them.

If not Penn State, maybe Central Florida?

UCF is def a high risk, high reward target

Lots of potential

No directional states, thanks.

If it's 2nd or 3rd tier in its own state we don't want it.

i don't get the UCF infatuation.....

they're fourth choice to "TOP recruits" in their own state

yes, they have some good teams and make some runs that give the "big boys" a run for their money, but IMO the state of Florida is tapped out from a "program attractiveness" addition standpoint. (ie Florida, FSU, Miami)

PSU

ACC could get ND & Penn State and still not be close......

to what the SEC has done.

I think the Texas/OU to SEC deal will certainly start the collapse of conferences, the problem is from a "balance of power" standpoint there's not much "meat on the bone" left from a "power program or blueblood/prestige" college football standpoint.

Michigan
Ohio State
So. Cal
Oregon maybe
Penn State

even if a 2nd "super conference" was formed with the above the SEC still would have the edge IMO.

If you eliminate Divisions, you don't need anyone else***

Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.

It is all about the $$$.
UCF brings little as the ACC already has 2 schools in Florida.

WVA don't bring much, but I guess more than some.
How about Cincinnati, ACC is not in Ohio.

Unless things change, not much reason $$ wise for Big Ten schools to move. The Big12 will fall apart, so maybe some of those teams like OKST or Baylor or TCU.

ND is the best option, but with an expanded playoff, they need the ACC less.

PSU made 42 million from the BIG, ACC payed out 34 million. So an 8 million a year loss plus whatever it takes to get out of the BIG. I dont see it happening. The ACC will be left with UCF, Memphis and whatever is left of the Big 12.

Texas Tech is the school to bring in.

What fantasy land do people live in to think Penn State will come to the ACC? For less pay and leave traditional rivals? Makes no sense.
