Hope it works out for him! No problem with his decision but couldn't he have played the whole season and then transfer with still 2yrs remaining? Im guessing he is expecting a 1-n-Done scenario anyway?? I just dont understand these mid-season transfers, it really seems to be more of an act of a tantrum vs rational?? I could be totally wrong?

Maybe they think first name in means best opportunity but it makes me wonder how often its illegal recruiting with promises made?

Didn’t expect WVU. Not sure why but just thought he’d stay in the south. Hope he has a great career there.

Pretty sure he hadn't redshirted, so he had that option available to him because I don't think he appeared in more than 1/3 of our games.

If he'd kept playing that would have been off the table, burned a year of playing eligibility, and just had the redshirt year plus one year of playing availability.

This was probably his best move. He'd just been outrecruited here.

Out-recruited?

Nov 25, 2021, 5:02 PM

We have recruited some great backs but Lyn-J was the clear best, in my opinion, when he left by far.

lmao! Amazing how different people see things. He’s the 4th best back talent wise being Shipley, Pace, and Mafa. I think your the only person that thinks this.

Naw or maybe you think the way you do for a reason…smh

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

What does that even mean?

Could well also be scheme. I'm going to keep an eye on his numbers at WVU. I'm genuinely curious.

He's gotta stop that awful habit he has of not sticking his foot in the ground and ripping it north-south but instead dancing around behind the line instead of sticking his nose in there and getting what's there. That's what killed him more than anything, IMHO. He was always looking for the homerun and wouldn't ever settle for just getting that bare-bones-necessary 3.33 yards per carry...which translates to "getting on base". I lost track of how many times I saw him benched for that.

maybe he should also stop the awful habit of getting a dui right before camp starts then thinking that he should not be punished or be in the doghouse. just a guess.

Yes outrecruited...

Nov 26, 2021, 1:16 PM [ in reply to Re: TNET: Former Clemson RB announces transfer commitment ]

Lyn J had a couple of good runs early in his career, a good game or 2 in mop up duty, but little else in the following years to warrant him being gifted a starting spot.

Stupid mistake setting him up to leave. Geez

It was best he quit when he did...was apparently causing

issues in the running back room. He are fine with Shipley, Pace and Mafah!

Let's hope that the generous statement by LJD reflect some personal growth from him.

If he has learned the 'adult' lesson in all of this, then he has a much better chance of having a balanced, productive, and happy life.

Certainly pulling and praying for LJD that he is now on a better path for himself.

Very classy statement by LJD. I wish him the best and hope he has huge success at WVU.

Pretty good move, especially if the depth chart sets up favorably. No 5 star RB’s headed to WVU these days to keep him on the sideline. Certainly less competition than he would have had at UT or another SEC/ACC school.

Very small window for a running back. I say go follow your dream. Take it as far as you can go. No one is coming to save you when your a young man. You have to make your own way.

It's just business

It is nice to see Lynn-J taking the high road

Nov 25, 2021, 4:16 PM

and being positive about his experience here.

I wish him all the best. WVU seems to be a great destination for him.

Shipley comes in as the 2nd best RB in the nation and proves he's good and Dixon throws a fit. I'm glad he's gone and not stealing Shipleys touches.

Is it telling that he thanked Dabo, and Elliott, but omitted his position coach?
