That bridge must have been designed by...

the same engineer that did the Ben Sawyer bridge headed to Sullivan’s Island.

movable section dislodged and tilted into the water on one end. That, and the boats piled up like toys on top of each other around McClellanville. And, an entire pine forest snapped off like matchsticks off Highway 15 going from I-26 into Holly Hill. All testaments to the power of a monster the likes of which I do not wish to ever see again in my lifetime.

these days if you're not flying the Battle Flag or Swastika.

What's wrong with you Southerners down there? Don't you know the program?

One of my favorite childhood memories was sailing to Beaufort from Charleston on my granddaddy’s 38’ sailboat, “Wilton’s Island”. He built that boat himself as he did with most of the boats he owned throughout his life. We stayed on the boat in Beaufort for the water festival, good times. On another note, my granddaddy attended 75 straight Rockville races which has to be a record.

Speaking of Rockville that reminds me of one of the most hilarious sights I have ever seen. Three boat loads of us packed our coolers and motored over to Rockville from Edisto. We arrived and as tradition goes rafted up with a group stretched out under the biminis and began to socialize. There was one particular boat about ten yards from us that must have been partying all night. They were anchored inshore of us and the closest boat to the grass. There were two scantily clad (someone's daughters) on board. They mouthed off at one another constantly. The tide was close to low and their boat had actually settled on the mud somewhat. The two girls got louder and louder and had moved from the bow to the stern. All of a sudden one took a swing at the other and they wrapped up and both fell out in the pluff mud. They continued to fight and both managed to tear the bikini top off of the other. They struggled until they were exhausted and about waist deep in mud. Some people onboard finally threw them a line and hauled them in. They would not let them in the boat. They drug them up one at the time on the dive platform and washed them down with creek water. There they stood, bleeding legs, topless and still wanting to fight. Priceless.

Favorite past times - fishing, golf, Clemson sports. Depending on the day.
