The vaccines are proving to be short-lived in terms of efficacy and a typical FDA approval takes more like 10 to 15 years. Anything under 5 to 7 is unprecedented. This was clearly rushed for political reasons.

I’ve actually worked in the vaccine industry and have many filings with the FDA in the past. Part of the reason things take so long is the red tape. They literally have timelines set where they don’t have to respond to your filing for months. They can take 6 months to even look at something, find some minor issue and ask for a new submission and restart the review clock. The Covid vaccines are examples of how things could proceed if the government was run like a business.

Right? He calls a 5 to 7 month approval process unprecedented and completely ignores the fact that you know, this is an unprecedented time. You don't get to cite precedent when you're in uncharted waters. Full approval is full approval.
Again, "typical" always depends and does so in this case. This isn't your standard blood-pressure or anti-depressant treatment. It depends on the drug, sample-size of the study and the finding. Vaccines often go through a process that is only about 12 months. The other viral vaccines -like the swine flu etc - took about a year in development - it hit in 2008/2009 and a vaccines was available by 2009/2010 if I remember correctly. Even the covid test isn't that much democratically faster compared to other vaccines. Considering that even before "emergency use" that tens of thousands were in the clinical trial is significant. Considering that now millions of doses have been administered and tracked, then this might be one of if not the most studies treatments of all time.

vaccine mandatory for middle school/high school. They have won so far.. and Flue shots are not mandatory. so its possible to fight a vaccine.. but no 1 is going to fight the covid vaccine right now. that is political suicide. if you're a company and you dont mandate it when every one else does, you will be crucified in the media. I dont think even chicfili could survive an anti vax stance.
you better prepare yourself for the hard decision you may have to make soon.

The “political reason” for rushing this vaccine was for Trump to get credit. He had to have something out there by the end of last year and amazingly it happened. Credit to him for pushing so hard.
Interesting that so many Trump supporters won’t get vaxed, even when he encourages people to do so.

They reduce the risk of severe COVID and death from COVID to nearly zero.
The approval isn’t rushed. The vaccine has been given to many millions of people. It is better studied than most drugs on the market.

I am fully vaccinated. We will never bring the unvaccinated around with this logic, I'm right your stupid.
From rationally speaking to the unvaccinated, they are not "anti vaccine", they get their annual flu vaccine. They are "anti this vaccine."
They do not trust it because it is new technology. They accept it's safe short term, but not sure about long term.
They do not trust the WHO, or the CDC. I can't blame them for that. They believe the virus leaked form the facility in Wuhan. The CDC denied that could even be a possibility for ages, the WHO still maintains that.
The number of deaths is over inflated, if you are on deaths door step from cancer and you get covid it's a covid death, not cancer.
We allow people control over their health related to eating too much, eating garbage food, smoking, etc. but people are wanting to make them take a vaccine they don't believe in.
Just my observations. So let's not demonize them.

“A team of WHO-appointed scientists flew to Wuhan earlier this year on a mission to investigate the source of the pandemic. After spending 12 days there, which included a visit to the laboratory, the team concluded the lab-leak theory was "extremely unlikely".

Yes a Chinese hand picked team allowed in more than a year later. One of the team members, sorry don't feel like looking it up, tried to add evidence that it did leak but was overruled. A China gov't that has zero credibility re anything, other than making themselves look good on the international stage. Although they are a republic, it says so right in their name.

equal to the increased number of total deaths since Covid started. Admittedly I haven’t researched this in the last few weeks but up until then I watched this closely. I’m too lazy to provide links. But if that’s still the case it’s hard to understand why the number of Covid deaths is overstated. What I do think is possible is that once Covid is behind us the number of total deaths could be lower than the number from let’s say 2019. People that we’re going to die in the next few years may have died 2 or 3 years earlier than they would have because of Covid.

You are exactly right. I, too, tracked total weekly deaths in 2020 compared to total weekly deaths in 2019. I stopped around Jan, and like you said, 2020 deaths - 2019 deaths = deaths attributed to Covid by scientists. Furthermore, 2020 deaths had about three exponential humps; the were nit equally dispersed across the year, as if they were caused by something contagious. Hmm, wonder what that could be?
On the other hand, an old HS chap who barely passed general science and doesnt know whst "exponential" means "did his research" and determined it was a hoax. Who am I with my silly BS and MS in engineering? I suppose I should believe my old HS chap.

Your comment about knocking on deaths door due to cancer and having Covid and the death being marked as Covid would only be partially true.
I’m not sure if you’ve ever looked at a death certificate before but it’s not uncommon for a death certificate to list several causes of death. I had two deaths in my family last year and both had about 5 contributing factors listed for death.
So yes, it’s quite possible that a person could have cancer and Covid and have Covid put down on the death certificate, but I’d nearly guarantee you the cancer would be on there as well.

that I knew, that have passed away because of complications from COVID. Yes, they might have had a few health problems, but they shouldn't have died from it. If you don't know of anyone, then count yourself lucky.
I jumped at the chance to get vaccinated. If you don't, then that's your right. Just know the risks.

I state it again, I am fully vaccinated. I have discussions, not shouting matches, with those who haven't. One of the things they cite is the over statement of deaths.
April 2020, April, Deborah Birx, MD, coordinator of the White House Coronavirus Task Force, said this when asked about people who have COVID-19 but die from preexisting conditions: “If someone dies with COVID-19, we are counting that as a COVID-19 death.” Many state and locals used the same guideline. That guideline changed over the summer of 2020.

"Whether COVID-19 shortened a life by 15 years or 15 minutes; whether COVID-19 is an underlying or contributing condition, the virus was in circulation, infected an Alaskan, and hastened their death. This must be reported."
I know plenty of folks have died, way too many. The trucks parked on the streets in NYC was evidence enough.
They also see our leaders telling us one thing, but doing something else, Obama B-day party, and Pelosi garden party.
All I'm saying we have to stop demonizing those who disagree with us.
