homecoming tickets

Jul 16, 2016, 10:04 PM

So being a Florida resident for the last 10 years or so, I haven't been to a game in years although I watch fanatically from the comfort of my living room.

The wife and I are thinking about trying to come up for homecoming (we got an offer for a family babysitter), and I started looking around on stub hub. Never used it before but the prices seem crazy high. As I recall back when we lived in SC you could buy a ticket outside the stadium for less than 40 bucks (usually closer to twenty bucks).

Is it still pretty easy to get a decent seat for a reasonable price outside the stadium on game day or is the stub hub rate close to the going rate? I must confess I don't even know what face value of a ticket is these days.

Thanks for any info you can provide. Hopefully we will be able to make it up for the game.

Only three games that I could not find a pair of tickets

outside before kickoff....but one of them was a homecoming game against Wake Forest. I believe it was 2002 and a PERFECT fall day. I think a ton of people decided to join the homecoming crowd on a last minute decision, thinking there would be spare tickets.

Face value is over $70 plus equity

Cheap tickets are available for first two home games or any game that rains against a weaker opponent.

Homecoming is popular, and should budget accordingly. $20-40 expectation is silly even for worse seats in the house.

Wasn't trying to imply that I was expecting to get a 40 dollar ticket just trying to express my clueless frame of reference.

The 180 to 700 prices/ ticket on stubhub just seemed a little steep. Certainly wouldn't have a problem paying face value+ but I 180/ticket seemed high to me.

Thanks for the info about current face value.

Plenty of tickets will be available on this site (Click "Tickets") for the game....some will even be reasonably priced. $100 and more per ticket not unreasonable for lower deck. Or, just don't tell the person you're negotiating with outside the gate that your wife will kill you if you don't buy his over priced tix because you drove her 8 hours assuming you could find a cheap one and now you're screwed because hardly any are available....you get the idea.

Thanks, that's just what I was looking for really- an idea of what a reasonable price for a lower deck ticket would be.

Somewhat concerned that with the season that most of us are expecting to have, tickets may be a little harder to come by than during some other seasons.

Should be a great year if the key guys can stay healthy.

I expect tickets will be harder to find and more expensive this year due to our success. Season tickets sold out. There also were a lot of problems with counterfeit tickets last year. I agree with an earlier post. There will be tickets on here that can be transferred through the ticket office. Some will be reasonably priced. If you're driving that far and rarely see a game in person, go ahead and splurge on good seats and parking.

Or wait until January and come see us in Tampa. :)
