One sign that religion is man made

is that people for the most part have grown out of the need to worship something. Pretty much you either go to church on Sunday or you play golf or sleep off your hangover. Way back in the day everybody worshipped some sort of god or idol.
The idea of worshipping a diety is primeval and if there is a being that created us just to be bowed down to or else he’ll torture you for eternity he’s a pretty sick individual.

Our turn away from religion as a society has left an obvious hole. Narcissism reigns for some, others worship the state or lift the process of science to the pedestal of an institution and worship its ever changing edicts. In place of one dogma, we have many often at war with each other. While never having much faith myself, it seems we lacked foresight in doing away with traditional religion as our moral and ethical cornerstone and
are weakened in its absence.

I think most people just see the obvious flaws in the belief that there is some being floating around that knows everything that’s going on in every part of the world and every single persons mind all at the same time.

I’ve always thought it odd that an all-knowing, all-powerful being requires people to worship him in order to gain his favor. Seems like a very human idea of power.

The only question I ask as we shame Christians and try to make fun of people for their belief in Jesus Christ, How’s the world doing overall? There’s so much unity and love for one another right? I got news for you fellas.,, It’s only going to get worse. So as you keep laughing at people’s beliefs, be proud of yourselves because in the end, you are the problem as you are too selfish and have too big of a need to be right to have a sense of self validation.
I can assure you that those who’s faith is strong will stay strong and you won’t be able to convince otherwise. What are you trying to win? How is it harming you if someone believes in God? Again are you try to convince others or yourselves? If you want to play the advocate of “hey religion is man made”, fine believe what you want. So is the strong belief that God doesn’t exist is a man made narration. So by definition you have a faith and a religion you believe in as well. Let me know when you win your prize for shaming people for believing in God.

And this reaction is exactly what turned me off to Christianity. You refuse to acknowledge anything that goes against what you’ve been taught to believe, no matter how logical it is or how irrational it makes your belief look.

I could care less how you view reality. It does not and will not impact my life in any way. Don’t flatter yourself, I’m not interested enough in you to be offended by anything you say. It’s tiring that the same old re-run people like you deliberately pop up just to troll religious believers ( Christianity or otherwise ) and take shots at their religious beliefs. And no, I wasn’t influenced by others to believe in what I believe in. I do it by choice and faith and that’s my reality just like hundreds of millions of others.

I honestly wasn’t trying to shame anyone, just replying to the OP. I actually think the intent of most religions is good but it often gets twisted by adherents to maintain their power over the lives of others.
