One reason we stay in the ACC

I just looked at the 22-23 US News and World Report rankings of Colleges and Universities and it is clear why ACC Presidents will not support changes that might potentially break up the ACC. The ACC has 14 schools in the Top 100 of National Universities. I will not list them all because you can look it up or buy the magazine but will say that we are tied at #77. Inside the Top 30 are Duke (10), Notre Dame (18), UVA (25), UNC and Wake (29).

Compare the list of ACC schools to the SEC, for example, and you see why the ACC is different and special. FYI, of course Princeton is #1 and South Carolina is #115.

In a few years there will be about 50 million reasons a year why we leave the ACC. Too much of a difference and the B1G and SEC will renegotiate AGAIN before 2036 when this awful GoR finally ends.
How much do you think the NEXT contract will put them above us? 100 million a year?
The ACC is dead absent some miracle. Im not sure even ND football could save it.

Presidents like prestige but they like money more. For this reason, some will choose to leave the ACC.

One reason why the ACC will dissolve like snow in June.

That is true Valley Boy, it does look great for our reputation and academics. Unfortunately, this is about money and I am not sure how we overcome the major difference we will have vs. SEC/Big10. The presidents of several(8) ACC schools need to band together to leave. they may go to different conferences, but need to exit ACC together.

Conferences are pretty much about

Sports not academic groupings. Clemson being left behind where we have no shot at the top in our sports-like football- is why we must leave. Go Tigers!!!

There is a real possibility that the P5 is splitting apart.

The teams in the bottom half will have far less money than teams at the top and they will not be able to compete.

The presidents don't want their athletic department to be in the bottom half.

It’s why he BIG 10 is the best fit for us
