Don would be easier to listen to if he gave the Score more often

He doesn’t do it enough. I’d rather have a Play by Play guy give the Score Too Often than not enough!

I’ve listened to Clemson games on the radio for half an hour and not known what the score was. My God bring back Pete Yanity

Well when your pitching is as suspect as ours has been this season every pitch IS an offering . A really identifiable , easy to open offering.

We made it past the halfway mark this month before getting the Don Munson complaint thread.

That might be a record.
I don’t see what the big deal is, he does a good job.

When Pete replaced the late great Jim Phillips I was not a fan. Had grown up listening to JP all my life. He was the true voice of the Tigers when almost all Tiger events were not televised. However, Munson is embarrassing for an athletic department like Clemson. He did well on Friday nights and the 5th quarter but he has to be one of the worst announcers for a power 5 school. Heard Pete calling Furman game last week. He’s light years better at play by play than Don. Dons a nice guy but he’s been over promoted. Thank goodness most of our sporting events are televised now.

Pete was good, not a homer which i think is what they had issues with. Which I didn’t believe that Jim Phillips was a homer either. It’s almost impossible to replace a legend , however i thought Pete did as good a job as any would.
Munsons just bad. He jumbles up words in key situations and when listening to a game on the radio, you need someone who can paint a picture in your head of what’s in front of them. I listen to most of the baseball games on the radio, and baseball due to the lack of speed in the action, should be the easiest to call. However he struggles to relay what’s actually happening on the field, again due to jumbling and combining names and words that don’t go together.
Now I would be horrible at it too, but I also don’t make my living at it.

followed the legend. Some one should have told that to Pete Yannity. Plus, doesn’t Munson have some backing from Dabo which got him promoted to the position of ineptness?

That’s a FACT! If not for Dabo, Don would not be doing PBP!

Everyone should remember this at all times. I must remind myself when listening to Munson when I want to scratch my eardrums out. It's a small price to pay to have Dabo and what he brings, so everyone just eat it!
