Clemson's Late 4Q Score Dumps UVa.

AP - Rodney Williams threw a 14-Yard Touchdown to Chip Davis with 01:52 to play as No. 11 Clemson came back to run its record against Virginia to 28-0 with a 10-7 victory on Saturday.

The scoring play capped an eight-play, 80 Yard march by the Tigers after UVA had taken a 7-3 lead on Herman Moore's juggling reception in the end zone at the 05:27 mark.

Clemson, whose 28-0 mark against Virginia is an NCAA record for most consecutive victories by one team over another, improved to 4-1 overall and 2-0 in the ACC. UVA fell to 2-3 / 1-2 in the ACC.

Did we drop in the polls after that close victory

Against a subpar team on the road?

Was it the UPI and USA Today polls that were the thing back then?

Clemson stayed at 11 in the AP (although got jumped by Okie St) and went from 12 to 11 in the Coaches (got jumped by Okie St in that one too).

I was in that corner of the endzone as a student. Believe UVA had busted coverage on the play, did not line anyone up on the receiver. Entire Clemson section yelling at Rodney before the snap to take notice of the uncovered receiver.

yeah and if you notice, he almost bobbled the snap***
