All top 25 teams who played today won. Several games had highly favored teams that barely squeaked by so there may be some shuffling ahead of us. Don't see any team passing us.

1) As much as any other team near us in the polls.
2) Some team will. Might as well be us.

next week, due to their poor record we won't gain much ground out of it. Next week a few top 25 teams ahead of us are playing each other and some others could fall. I'm not saying we should stumble into better rankings, but some teams will. Why not Clemson?

Ga.Tech?????
Did you see what happened this weekend to our next 5 opponents after Ga.Tech?
Va.Tech lost to Cincinnati.
Wake lost to Duke.(See below)
Duke beat Wake.(Whoopie in either case).
Maryland beat open date.Or maybe I should say open date forfeited.
N.C.State lost.
Does not seem a very good reciept for moving up in the polls anytime soon.

Teams move up by default in the polls all the time. Lets take Rutgers for example. They have moved from an unknown to a ranked team by being 4-0. However, they have played Tulane, Howard, USF, and Arkansas. Not counting 1AA Howard, the teams they've played are a combined 3-11 with only one of those wins being against an FBS team. Unless talking about the top 3 or 4 spots the polls have proven that it doesn't matter who a team plays as long as they win.

Try this and see how it fits. We were the #10 team that went toe to toe with the #4 team in their house for 3 full quarters and loss. Dropping 7 spots was asinine. If the same scenario would have happen with one of the god (sec) conference teams, that would have never happened.

games are Duke/Wake. No reason not to be 10-1 when USC comes to town. By attrition, we'd be up to about #7 by then no matter how bad GT/VT/NCST suck.

The beauty of playing in the ACC is that you only have 1-2 tough games every year. Decent teams should always finish ranked highly from that conference. VA Tech has made a living out of being ranked with the big boys and then getting slaughtered when they actually have to play somebody OOC.

Correct. We move up in polls same as every other team: they lose and we keep winning

There are some undefeated teams behind Clemson

Louisville for example and Northwestern...I would be surprise to see us stay put. Once all of the undefeated schools start dropping we will be ok

plenty of time for that as long as we keep taking care of business. That FSU loss will drift further and further in the distance if we just keep winning.
