On side kick penalty?

I need some clarification regarding the on side kick Saturday. I thought the NCAA rule was that there must be at least 5 players on either side of the ball at the kick off (at least 2 between the hash marks and at least 2 outside the numbers). When the GT kicker kicked the ball, one of the GT players ran from the left of the kicker to the right side of the kicker (the side the kick was directed). Should that not have been a penalty as there were more than 5 players on one side if the ball? Help would be appreciated.

Current rules state that at least 4 players must be on either side of the kicker. So there was no penalty.
