Ole sCam Newton can go ahead and hang up his cleats

Panthers offense actually looks decent with Kyle Allen.

Was Cam sporting his finest attire on the sidelines? Didn't see him during parts of the game I watched.

I thought I read that he didn’t make the trip.

Cam did not travel with the team this week. Maybe Panthers wanted to concentrate on football and not fashion show

Injured players don't travel with the team, so let's dismiss any idea that Cam purposely stayed home or was told to stay home to avoid distraction. Allen looked great yesterday. He was pinpoint on most of his throws and showed some touch that has definitely been lacking. As a Panthers fan, I hope he gets the start next week, so we can see if his success is sustainable.

I know it's popular to hate Cam on here. Some of it is warranted criticism. A lot of it is childish ignorance or downright racism. Yes, Cam has struggled to make a lot of basic throws throughout his career although it's been particularly bad since his injury last year. For the most part he's been able to cover up missing throws that everybody can make, by making throws or runs that nobody else can make. He's generally been the best football player on the field at any given time. I'm pulling for him to return to form because when he's on, he's a really fun player to watch. But if his ability to make those eye-popping plays is gone, then it might be time to move on. Up until recently, Carolina hasn't really had any great weapons, and he's had to carry the offense. But now they have weapons all over the field, and they just need someone who can get them the ball consistently.

I dont much care for pro ball but if I had to choose a teamid choose Carolina.

as for Newton, I've not noticed anyone here exhibiting racist tendencies as to Newton. fact is, I've seen very little of such here on any level. But I have seen assertions of racism pop up from time to time and almost always the charges seem to pinpoint attitudes without a clear reference to words or acts.

it would be nice if folks could grow up enough to accept that saying something negative about a celebrity of a different race is seldom about race except to those who would use it to hurt others with whom they disagree and seek to limit their expression of opinion.

hatred of the Panthers is tied up in Scam Newton. From the payola scandal when he was at Auburn, to his overall demeanor and dress in press conferences, he just grates on my last nerve. If they ever do draft a Clemson player, and move Scam on out to pasture, I could maybe someday become a Panthers fan. That would be good, since I am forced to watch them as the "home market" NFL team in my area. (But, before them, it was either the Redskins or Falcons, neither of which was very good at the time.)
