Great story. He's gonna be a good one. We should be set on oline next year once everyone is healthy. Wonder if Bock comes back.

Others have mentioned it and pointed it out, is there a reason we take so many tackles and then move them to guard. As Tate says, it's not as easy a transition as some may think.

Anyway, pumped to see the fellas develop for next year. I'd play every single one the rest of the year and get back to rotating like we have.

I'm pretty sure Bock said he was done.

OL Problem

Nov 11, 2021, 9:43 AM

My biggest problem with our offensive line is this...They fire off at the snap of the ball and then seem to stop and look around for the ball carrier. You hardly ever see them have an initial hit and continue to drive the defender. They basically block for a second or two. Bockhorst may have been the only exception to this pattern. Also, they don't seem to be great at pulling and finding the correct defensive player to target. And with Tate he just seemed to be totally lost on some plays.

In RPOs and with your back to the play you don’t know whether it’s a run or a pass. If the QB keeps and it’s a pass you’ll be called for IPDF if you take a single step too far downfield. If it’s a run and you’re blocking for the pass you’ll miss your assignment. It’s an enigma. But a crucial part of why they occasionally look lost.

i believe it would pay great dividends to take everyone on the offensive line including tight ends and have them practice the shag and some jitterbug in the off season. This will enable them to be quick, nimble and fluid in their technique along with stamina.

And it might help improve the after-victory dances!

I hope next year we have a lot more to dance about than this year, and I certainly believe we will.
