Who's reported this or have you been at practice and seen so yourself?

media got a 30 minute look today, I was reading Larry Williams' recap. Said Swinney was lighting the DL up. Called them "soft". Said the backup OL was whipping the DL starters. TCI reporting the same. Also, the video last night showed much of the same.

considering Shatley had never played Oline until last year, he is bound to only get better.

Wouldn't it be nice to have that happen for a change, but what would be even nicer is that if no other offense could get the same results vs our defense. Then we have what we want, methinks.

Swinney said they lost the first few paw drills but came back strong. I believe the concern is about the paw drills specifically. Obviously they are not going to win every paw drill anyway. Everything I've heard so far about the defense has been positive. We won't be a top 10 defense coming out the chute but I can't see how we wouldn't significantly improve over last year.

If the DL had dominated we'd have people saying our OL isn't as good as we think. These battles help with teaching and keeping players focused.

If true, it is a nice change. Our OL needs to be better for us to get where we want to be. Our Defense needs to be good enough not to let that happen though. I want an unstoppable force on Offense going against an unyielding counter force on defense for our opponents to have to deal with. If we get that, then we'll all be satisfied, IMO.

I agree. If anything, this is a good sign for the offense and underscores our need to sign another DT this recruiting cycle if we can.
If we have a consistent 2-deep OL, look out. Nobody will stop us.

I don't think many realize just what our not having a great OL probably has cost us through the years. Had we had a great OL, one like ugay or AL fields each year, I have no doubt we would have won many, many more games throughout the years. Defense wins championships, but the OL is what makes an offense great and what makes the skill players much more weapon like.

From what they showed on the video of the Oklahoma...

drills all I saw was a lot of stalemates along the line of scrimmage....not much whipping going on. Occasionally an OL got the best. Ebo got too high and was handled once. We have some defenders getting off of blocks and some not, but not many were getting handled by the OL. Keep in mind we will have LB's filling those holes in a real game. Find some DL who can shed blocks and make tackles and we'll be fine.
