Okay so Bama looks good right now, but is anyone

Nov 9, 2015, 11:32 AM

really going to argue that the SEC (either division) is particularly strong right now?

I mean seriously:

http://secsports.go.com/standings/football

Florida has a good record but the East is PATHETIC (and UF just beat Vandy, a team who was absolutely SKUNKED by AAC team Houston, by 2 points...)

The West looks a bit better because LSU and Miss St have good records but Arkansas, who has knocked off Ole Miss and Auburn, lost to Toledo and Tex Tech at home. That division is mediocre at best.

Bama has a 7-2 Miss St team this week but that's by far the best team they play for the rest of the year. Auburn shouldn't sniff the top 25 again this year, especially after Bama beats them. Assuming they win this weekend that means they'll have one top-10 win (LSU) and possibly another top 25 win in either Wisconsin or 3-loss Miss St.

http://secsports.go.com/clubhouse/football/alabama-crimson-tide

We have a top 10 win in ND and another top 20 win in FSU.

If we end up playing an 11-1 UNC team in the ACC Championship game and they play an 11-1 (or even better 10-2-with-a-loss-to-FSU) UF team we should basically have the same resume.

I just fail to see how all the people fawning over Bama and saying we're just #1 by default are really looking at their resume and being that impressed--especially since they have a LOSS to a 3-loss team at home...

Bama looks really, really good, no I mean really.

If you go blind when you look at W/L records and use ESPiN's new metric, 'The Eye Test.'

You have to ignore the fact that most of the teams they have played have a winning record within their conference which had 10 preseason top 25 teams and have only four remaining.

No, Bama looks like a defense that can stop the run but not the pass especially one thrown by a QB with a 6-3 record who has a QBR ranked 11 or better and isn't crippled.

So yeah, I agree with you and 80% of NCAA football fans. The SEC is over rated and bama is the tallest midget for at least another week.

I think Bama and LSU are both very solid teams....

but I also think Clemson could beat either one of them on any given day.
