Maybe not, those same blind idiots were saying through the playoffs that the 2018 Bama team was the best team in their FB history, and they were going to destroy Clemson in the National Championship game, Not one of those ESECPN idiots gave Clemson a chance to win against the Historical best team that Bama has had in the entire history of the Alabama Football program, and what happen, Clemson 41-16 is what happen, and that Historical Bama team didn't score a single 2nd half point even after Dabo's coaches allowed their 3d and 4th team players come in and have a part in destroying Bama 44-16!!!
How soon do those ESECPN idiots forget just how wrong they can be when it comes to going up against a Dabo Swinney Clemson Tiger FB team!!! Let them talk, that's what they are good at. I love it. #Facts. We were a little soft in the middle from injuries, backend wasn't disciplined. O-line was soft and thin at wr but we still could have won it all with that roster if things went our way. This is a different team. This team is athletically gifted to the point its probably the strongest roster in Clemson history. We are about to absolutely wreck people defensively. Our gifted offense will gel to a historic level with a tremendously high floor and unlimited ceiling. I think we embarrass Georgia and JT "Van with candy" Daniels. This is where we win atleast 2 more national titles. Lets Go!!!

As long as there is a four team playoff, the rules are still the same.
1. It doesn't matter what any talking-head says.
2. Win 'em all and you're in.
3. Lose one and you need some help.
4. Lose two and, barring a miracle of major proportions, you're out.

If we still had Wyoming instead of UGA on the schedule, winning them all doesn't guarantee being in (it can't, ever, for at least 1 P5 team and ND).
But WITH Georgia on the schedule, I think we control our own destiny, especially since either Ohio State or Oregon is guaranteed a loss in the very next week.
I definitely don't have this Clemson team losing two games, but even undefeated I'm not certain we'd be in without a playoff---It's why I'm so thankful we replaced the BCS with the CFP system; it's not fair, & we shouldn't ever be as limited by the lack of opportunities in the regular season.

UGA just affords us a loss and still make the playoffs. There is VERY RARELY 2 undefeated teams at seasons end...mush less 4.

You might be right!
I think with either Ohio State & Oregon being guaranteed a loss in week 2 & Notre Dame having a tough schedule & the most number of bye-week opponents this year we may quickly regain control of our own destiny regardless to anyone but in the ACC title game, I'm with you there.

Why is no one picking Alabama? Only one mention of Ohio State, but I think they will lose one they’re supposed to win and be the first one out.
Is Rattler that good that you pick him over Saban? No way Georgia beats Clemson, Alabama and South Carolina in the same season. Not happening.

If they beat Clemson and Alabama- Alabama twice- I would say that they deserved it.
They would have to beat bama in the sec championship game- and I am guessing the two of them would never be paired up in the plays offs- so it would have to be the championship game

Oddly I think that's a disadvantage now; every BIG12 team will now be hunting them a little extra, for example.
Still, this is Riley's first QB he recruited himself & he's a legitimate talent, plus the defense made fundamental improvements last year with guys who are returning this year. Much like our own defense, it's hard not to expect them to be better this year simply because of the returning talent on board & the fixable, fundamental mistakes they made last year.
If Herbie is right & we get to play Oklahoma in the playoff, that game will be epic! Can't wait!

Exactly, and I've never seen so many OK positive articles posted in the last several weeks. The sec use to hammer the Okies. Also seeing OK videos playing on EsecPNU that I'm sure they had to dust off. They have adopted OK and are going to play it like they've been in the sec since the start.

After our last game with TL at the helm, we do have something to prove. We needed to improve and this game is an opportunity to right the ship. Offense is a question mark at this point, but hopefully we will put it all together and humble the talking heads.

The article left out the "why" part, oddly.
Again, the segment has explicit discussion about how our schedule has competition on it but likely not nearly enough to make it a GUARANTEE we control our own destiny with a lose to the only currently-ranked team on the schedule, UGA.
They're not wrong, and WITHOUT a playoff we'd likely not control our own destiny outright.
I have NO PROBLEM being thankful for the playoff, and for this huge OPPORTUNITY against Georgia in a week! Ohio State & Oregon play each other in week 2 & that game alone may ultimately determine our ability to get in & one of them has to lose.

Bottom line, beat UGA in week 1 & we control our own destiny.
It also changes these picks immediately, which is why I CAN'T get upset about them. It's a lesson Coach Swinney has preached for year, & I admit it's personal but I agree with him.

I see UGA & Oklahoma as being extremely similar in terms of level-of-competition.

Wasn't me, but I will say that Clemson can compete with any team in the country, and probably will beat them. But I do believe that the talkers aren't giving Uiagalelei as much credit as DW4 or TL16 was getting as starter!!!

Exactly, and what the data won't do, is give Clemson credit for our 2021 defensive dominants, and the same can be said with how well I believe that DJ will be as our starting QB!!! But that is the main reason we play the games, and not appoint a winner from last years stats!!!

I’m sorry but with GA losing Washington for our game I just don’t see them beating us. Washington is needed for those third down conversations and was a huge mismatch for us. Without him we can zero in on their mediocre relievers. JT will have to hold the ball too long and will get sacked at least 4 times next sat. I see us winning by 10-14 GA Defense will keep them in it till 4th quarter.

ESPN/SEC can kiss out Orange/White/Purple backsides for all I care. I look at like this, Clemson will beat Georgia. Now, as far as the CFP is concerned, honestly if Clemson does run the table, wins the ACC, I don’t believe the CFP committee is going to be dumb enough to not include Clemson. BUT! Seeing how ESPN wants us out, fine with me, the heck with the CFP, give me The ACC Championship game and a Bowl trip to Orlando for the Citrus ?? Bowl. I’d rather get me a ticket to the Citrus ?? Bowl for $89-$95, watch Clemson play either a Big XII, BIG10, or dumpster fire SEC team, win and be happy with a 14-0 ACC/Citrus ?? Bowl Championship! Screw the ESPN/SEC/CFP machine.
