If true, you acted extremely foolishly and SELFISHLY Ammon

Jun 25, 2015, 9:53 AM

Your extremely poor judgement is a terrible way to learn a life lesson. You've harmed your team, and many people who've invested in you as player, teammate. DUI is bad enough but coke too? I'll trust the coaches, university to correctly determine your fate as a Tiger. The selfish fan in me hates to lose our best kicker but the Tigers have been building things the right way and you tarnished it. I'll support them helping you grow by letting you go.

And you are who? Support who? Another "holier than thou".***

Yeah but it was cocaine. That's a bit much

Jun 26, 2015, 7:02 AM

the dui thing I'll give u. But actively carrying cocaine around with and going to that extreme is next level type stuff.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

The dui is more a problem than the coke.

DUI hasn't been proven in court but IMO, he'll have to cop a plea to get even the slightest opportunity to play this season.

The coke will require drug testing every other day, I guess.

Coots are always quick to harsh judgment if one of ours screw up. But when several of theirs screw up, they are all in with offering them their 12 + steps program. And when that fails, they make them the same offer again and again until their NCAA eligibility has expired!!!

many of you embarrass yourselves and the site by erroneously crying "coot" too often. go to the trouble of reading my bio. my name and family are listed there I've been a Tiger fan from birth. I've also been 100% clean and sober for going on 3 years-after a lifetime of on and off substance abuse. I'm sure I've committed worse wrongs than Ammon. However I was NOT an important part of a team with big aspirations. His poor judgement affects thousands of people, could conceivably cost the Tigers a precious win or two and millions of dollars. So I think I'm spot on to vent at him for being very foolish-considering all that is at stake. It's errors like these that can lose championships. ; /

I just noticed this too. http://www.tigernet.com/blog/mickey-plyler/Discipline-13835

It sounds like Mr.Plyer and I are not far apart on this issue.

I disagree. I bet your family would say YOU are an important

Jun 26, 2015, 6:49 AM [ in reply to Re: Ok. What can I do to pile it on?........You're a coot !*** ]

part of a team. Valuable and needed.

And you, based on what you said, made a lifetime of poor choices - some of which you were caught in, some of which you didn't get caught, I'm sure.

Ammon made a really bad choice. Cocaine is a really bad choice.

For his sake and his family's sake - I hope this is what he needs to turn away from that destroying drug and never look back.

Brad Brownell: Only Larry freaking Shyatt has a WORSE overall winning percentage among Clemson basketball coaches since 1975. Let that sink in. It's Larry Shyatt & then Brad Brownell.

there is definitely truth to what you say and I commend you for that. Pre internet and more enlightened thinking I as a youngster and young man was definitely ignorant of the wide ranging effects of even milder substance abuse. However, Ammon had to have had a very clear understanding of what could be lost by making such choices. Millions of dollars, prestige, championships, the dreams and the joy of thousands of Tigers. If he can stay and handle it at least as well as Sammy Watkins overcame his mistake then I suppose everybody wins. If the coaches decide he has to go, I support that too. Regardless, Go Tigers.

Jun 26, 2015, 5:07 AM

you think. But if you really want to send him a message, maybe you should try a different way to communicate with him.

I think that is the general opinion here.
