Ok, some accusations have been made that Georgia CHEATS. Being dead serious...

If this is the case I will drop UGA in a second. I am a Georgia alum and supporter. But, I will NEVER support a program that cheats.
But, after reading accusations on here that Kirby and Georgia DOWNRIGHT CHEAT I am somewhat taken aback. This is a MAJOR ACCUSATION MAJOR.
Forgetting allegiance, I want to know what is going on? How is Kirby cheating? How is Georgia cheating? Boosters involved? Is is downright cash payments to potential players? This is not funny and I have read SEVERAL POSTS on here that, indeed, UGA is cheating.
Obviously, people on here know things that are happening. I want to know. I don’t care how sordid they are, either.
I’m just trying to comprehend and grasp the things that have been posted. It seems bad. Almost sickening. I just want it to come out and the sooner the better. Basically, I’m just hurt that this has been going on, apparently for some time.
I find it harder each year to support college athletics and now I learn that Georgia is cheating.

Nobody actually knows anything about any cheating at uga. If they did it would be reported.
Sort of like certain fans of other programs are always accusing Clemson of cheating. If they actually knew something, they would report it.

No one here knows squat about Georgia cheating.

Some people just don’t want to accept that Georgia would sign any recruits that Clemson wanted, and assume that they must’ve cheated.
Plus, Herschel Walker choosing Georgia and getting a Trans Am soon after has left some wounds that still haven’t healed here.

I will tell you that this is inaccurate....Me and my father in law redid the floors in his parents house in Wrightsville and they are very much still in the same house that Herschel grew up in...

Let's just be honest about Kirby Smart and UGA's recruiting
Sep 16, 2021, 7:40 PM
|
|
Here some facts for consideration:
1. Georgia is one of the most football talent rich states in the South. It really is a toss up between Georgia and Florida for the most talented HS football players every year in the Southeast.
2. Having lived/been stationed in Georgia for long periods of time for the last 30 years, I can tell you that Georgia is essentially a one University fan club state. 90% of Georgians are raised to be UGA fans from birth - especially in the lower economic classes. Nothing wrong with that but there really isn't any semblance of fan diversity in Georgia. There are a few GT fans spread out here and there but if you go into any store selling college logo stuff - it is 90% UGA and 10% other. If you pick any Georgian walking down the street - 90% of the time they are a bulldog fan.
3. Because most the vast majority of kids in that state are raised Bulldog fans, their ultimate dream is to play for UGA someday. This is a HUGE advantage with UGA recruiting in that talent rich state.
4. Because of the facts above, UGA fills their recruiting roster with a majority of Georgia kids - anywhere from 50-75% of their recruits in any given year are from the state of Georgia. Compare this to how many recruits Clemson has had from our home state of South Carolina over the past 6 years - maybe 20% any given year (in fact Clemson has recruited more kids from Georgia than South Carolina for the past 3 years).
So ultimately I don't subscribe to the idea that Kirby commits major recruiting violations to get the talent - he just takes advantage of an ingrained home state advantage of elite football talent.
It's just a fact that there is enough talent in Georgia for UGA to maintain a top 10 class every year without ever recruiting a kid from out of state. If UGA fans are honest with themselves they would have to admit it doesn't take a recruiting juggernaut to convince a talented kid from Georgia (90% of which have been a UGA fan their whole life) to accept a bulldog offer. Nothing wrong with that but we also don't need to go overboard claiming Kirby is some recruiting genius that has built Georgia into a recruiting powerhouse - it's not like Richt wasn't recruiting at a high level too.
I may be just me, but I gotta feeling Kirby wouldn't have the same level of recruiting success if he were the head coach outside of Georgia. Maybe we will find out some day as it really appears Kirby is destined to be no better than 2nd or 3rd in the SEC and I imagine that after going another few years without winning a national title, UGA may get rid of old bowl cut Kirby...

College Football-basketball cheat is like this
Sep 16, 2021, 8:38 PM
|
|
Speeding in your vehicle.
About 99% speed and about 25% speed significantly and about 2-3% think they are NASCAR drivers.
If you want to watch football, you’re going to have to drop the I can’t support cheating mantra as UGA (and yes even Clemson) hit the gas pedal. Most people have noticed an uptick in UGAs monetary endeavors since Kirby arrived but not like Ole Miss or UT when Fulmer was there, or Auburn most of the time. Relax. It’s been going on forever and the NIL will make it even worse.
For the record, I wish we could get rid of the cheating and the NIL but that’s not reality anymore. These kids are conditioned from an early age that they “deserve” it. It will eventually self-implode but take solace that basketball is even worse.

Two things
Sep 16, 2021, 8:53 PM
|
|
1) I am absolutely sickened by Georgia and the cheating thing. I honestly had no idea, but maybe I was just too naive.
2) I honestly appreciate it being brought out. If I turned a blind eye or ignored it, that would speak volumes about me and if a man is dishonest he is nothing

Then UGA has been nothing since Herschel Walker drove off the practice field parking lot in a brand new Transam “after mysteriously” discovering an envelope with car keys addressed to him that stated “enjoy the ride” !

about that nice plat of hunting land his family received right after he signed with UGa. Maybe it's just a coincidence that the deed to that land was promptly transferred out of the Mayes family name immediately after Cade transferred to Tennessee.
