I think the better question is why isnt there a drop dead date for them to join fully or we drop them like a bad habit? Its not like South Ben is convenient for any conference school.

I have to agree with you on this subject. Notre Dame isn’t so great that the ACC has to have them as a full time member. There are other schools more accessible that could add to the league in a number of ways.

You must be a member of the conference in the sport in question in order to participate in that sport's conference championship game. Notre Dame cannot participate in the ACC Football Championship Game for the same reasons as schools like Arkansas, UCLA, Hawai'i, and Iowa. There are only 14 schools that participate in the ACC for football and Notre Dame is not one of them.
