OU, Texas formally ask SEC for member invite
In a joint statement, Oklahoma and Texas announce they've formally notified the SEC that they are seeking "an invitation for membership" beginning July 1, 2025.

2025 is when they can leave w/o paying penalty for leaving.

In the meantime, Sec may be lining up four more schools to join. Thus by 2025, they may have their 20 super conference and will give them time to work out all the details. IMO, Recruiting will hurt other schools not a part of the new SEC during the 2022-2025 period unless other conferences have firmed up their moves or non-moves.

Lots of changes coming to college FB and by 2025, it will not look like it does today.
