Exactly. Does honesty and integrity even matter any more?

Of course not. Lying and cheating is not only expected and rewarded, it's championed. NOBODY in the media or in college athletics would dare to criticize Zion Williamson, or his family. Nobody has the balls to do what is right.

I’m more interested in knowing how the family moved into a $900k house in Durham when Zion committed to dook.

I am confident that Zion and/or his family received large sums of money

around the time of his commitment to Duke.
All indications were that he was set to commit to Clemson, as late in the process as the morning of his commitment announcement. Something changed in the hours leading up to that announcement, and I believe money (or the promise of money) was the main reason why.
I wouldn’t blame him one bit for choosing Duke over Clemson if his decision was based on basketball. But it wasn’t.

There’s no doubt everyone was shocked when he picked dook. I think he was serious about Clemson. Something definitely happened in the last hours and it was not just a recruiting “pitch” from K.

Nothing will ever happen. Would Zion have been a program changer for Clemson basketball? I doubt it.

It would’ve shown that we can sign an elite player.

I believe it would’ve helped recruiting moving forward, much like signing Spiller did for Clemson football.
CJ’s biggest impact on our football program wasn’t what he did on the field, it was what he enabled our coaches to do on the recruiting trail.

Don't forget that Zion's stepdaddy was throwing shade at Brownell for playing by the rules.
I kinda doubt that Brad would even have had to match The Dookies' offer. Maybe ZW would have been content--up front, anyway--with "earnest" money. But we'll never know.
We certainly don't have the back door money for basketball that Dook does.

You are 100% wrong.....Zion was going to Duke from Day 1. Positive. His mother was looking for a job and had secured one in the summer before his Jan announcement. Sorry to rain on your tin foil parade but Zion 100% was always going to Duke ALWAYS.
The stuff with Adidas has been disproven and this is just the same crap as always.\\

This. Not one person that actually follows college basketball thought there was even the slightest chance Zion was coming to Clemson. It did seem a sign of courtesy towards Clemson that he pretended we were in it because absolutely no one thought we would compete with the money coming his way either. So it’s not like he could leverage his interest in Clemson for more money. We would be outbid from the starting gate. If JK actually believes this he’s far from the insider he is often suspected of being.

Yes - those people did not actually believe that for a second. They were playing the game. Believe what you want.

It’s also ironic because your insinuation is actually worse for Brownell. You claim to believe that up until the moment of the announcement Zion truly intended to sign with Clemson. It would have been a colossal blunder if some truly last second pitch actually changed the mind of one of the highest rated recruits in years. It’s not like every program hadn’t put everything on the table. But, if Zion was never truly seriously considering Clemson, then there was nothing for Brownell to have f*ck up. Those “predictions” were favors to be on the good side of the hottest commodity since Lebron.

"It's not like every program hadn't already put everything on the table."
You're implying that you know that ALL the schools in the running for Zion were playing with free house and lease money, extra favors, do-nothing jobs, shoe and ticket money, booster handshakes, etc.
But Coach Smith was informed on to the FBI saying that he believed Brownell to be such a straight shooter that he couldn't even let Brownell know how frequently he had visited Zion because he had exceeded the limit. Then he blamed Dabo's successful football program for tapping out all the available boosters, resulting in a really weak offer to Zion's stepdad, Lee.
The facts of Smith's story was not verified, but the story itself is a part of the legal record.
Are you claiming that you know Brownell made an offer to Zion that included improper benefits? Or that if he didn't he deserves to be fired? I wouldn't want to misunderstand you, but you seem to imply that quite frequently.

Had he actually worn those Adidas he wouldn't have had the Nike blowout that kept the Duke fans from ever seeing any real benefit from their investment.

One of the reasons I stopped watching college Basketball for the most part; recruiting might be the sleaziest of all sports. AAU leagues and shoe companies and all their runners are pimps.
