Being mediocre in the SEC and losing to South Carolina are legitimate reasons for Texas A&M to move on and forward without Jimbo Fisher.

May switch conferences again...aggies just want to win something somewhere...should never have flopped to the sec...could not beat Texas or Oklahoma...they could rehire R. C. Scrotum...at least he had balls!

Switching conferences again could be possible if the Power Five are realigning. If new conferences with a set maximum of teams in each conference is the direction, teams will be switching to new conferences.

If they keep Jimbo for the rest of this year it isn’t due to the buyout. The aggies are well prepared to pay the buyout. They’re just trying figure out if he’s a great coach. Will be interesting to see how long it takes them to figure it out.

Oh, it's all about money. You cannot give a coach a 10-year extension, a huge buyout, for fear of losing him to LSU, and then fire him a few games later. It is more likely they'll intervene and demand he hire an OC to take over the offense.

After 2023 it's 76 mil. There is no salary offset that deducts the salary if he gets a contract at a new job. He has them by the nutz. The best thing is the fan base demand he resign and pressure it.with their wallets.
Another option is intentionally rat to NCAA and show proof of multiple major recruiting violations. I wonder if there is a violation/probation cheating clause.

I was joking with friends about them looking for reasons to fire him for cause. I am sure some boosters are doing that.

The recruiting class they are bringing in next year will keep him from being fired this year because they don't want to upset those recruits and have them bolting for greener pastures. However, if he doesn't produce something special next year, all bets are off.
