Saban said $3,000,000

was the total NIL money paid to Alabama players. That was so calculated to come out with that number imo. He knows Texas A&M paid much more. I wish at Jimbo’s press conference a journalist could’ve been brave enough to ask how much Texas A&M paid out to their last recruiting class in NIL money. Since Saban had an exact figure for his class, it would’ve been a fair question. I suspect Saban was hoping a journalist would bark up that tree. But none of them were brave or smart enough to ask that question

Would be interested to know also. It's all ridiculous how the NCAA put this off so long and didn't have a plan to release immediately after congress didn't take their side.
I think there should be a class action against NCAA from the schools that obviously can't compete with paying players. That would be 90% of the schools basically.

A&M paid $0, the same as every other school. Since NIL is between a sponsor/employer and an athlete, how a coach knows what a player makes is beyond me. Let's say I owned a business and there was a young man or woman in my church or neighborhood and I wanted the athlete to represent my business, do you think I would tell anyone the details? That would be a big fat no.

I believe these NIL deals have to be reported to the school. I don’t think they have to be reported publicly. That’s up to the player and their NIL sponsor.

…that NONE of those players would have gotten one dime in NIL money If they had NOT signed with TAM.
That’s the point!

Has to be coordinared/reviewed/approved through the institutions….Businesses can’t be putting kids under contract that conflicts with their commitments to the program.

I know for an absolute fact that a current Alabama RB gave college coaches the dollar amount that it would take for him to sign. By and by he winds up at Alabama along with so many others and that was before NIL. Saban needs to shut the heck up. Jimbo is a turd, but Saban has been cheating since Michigan State days and before

Not sure media bravery was the issue.

If you’re familiar enough with Jimbo, you don’t bother asking questions you know he is going to give you a fictional answer to. Deny, deny, deny.

I think that the NCAA should require all student athletes to submit a copy of last year's tax return. It would list from whom the athletes were receiving the money. If anything did not seem correct, turn them over to the IRS. That would tighten up everyone.

Jimbo said he does not lie, and I don’t know about you, but I totally believe him. He comes across as a very moral and upright man.

I’d even say he’s pious, except as a Coach he doesn’t believe in “I” or “U”…….so I guess that makes him P-O-S.

Dumbo left FSU in such a mess that they may never recover and I hope he does the same to Aggy
